Moses Simon Speaks On New Role As Left Wing Back & Swapping Shirts With Messi

Nigeria international forward Moses Simon is adjusting to life as a left wing back at Spanish side Levante with his last two appearance coming in the role against Barcelona in the Copa Del Rey.

In both games in the Copa Del Rey, the dimunitive forward distinguished himself particularly when he had the chance to go forward, and aid his team in attack during both ties despite the defeat they suffered in the second leg which led to their exit from the tournament.

Speaking about playing as a left wing back, Simon said he is not new to playing as a wing back but reckoned he played as a right wing back and not on the left in some games in his final season at Belgium side Gent.

” I’ve played as a wing-back but not on the left. I enjoy playing on the left but in attack. That said am loving my new role as long as it is for the good of the team, sacrifices must be made”, Simon said.

After the game, he excitedly posted a picture of himself with the jersey of Barcelona icon Lionel Messi and according to Simon, Messi made it easy to demand for his shirt after the game.

” Messi gave me his shirt without thinking twice when I requested for a swap of jerseys. I will forever treasure the shirt. It’s nice to see a celebrated football star behave so normal and level headed”, Simon concluded.
