Former Nigeria Professional Football League hotshot Stephen Alfred has joined Russian second division side PSC Sochi after a year with Kwara United, Owngoalnigeria.com reports.
Alfred was the breakaway forward in the NPFL last seasopn for newly promoted Kwara United in his first season in the top flight in Nigeria following his transfer from second division side Taraba United FC.
Quick and blessed with an eye for a goal, the left footed forward scored seven goals in the first stanza of the NPFL last season and was heavily courted by top clubs in Nigeria with an unnamed team in Portugal also keen on him according to the player himself.
His move to Russian side Sochi FC was made official on the 1st of January and he has even made his debut for the team in their pre season game ahead of the start of preparations for the commencement of the league in Russia.
21 year old Alfred will be expected to help the team retain their top flight status following their promotion to the second division from the third division at the end of last season.
