On loan Chelsea defender Fikayo Tomori has turned down fresh approach from the Nigeria Football Federation ( NFF) to switch allegiance to the senior national team of Nigeria, Owngoalnigeria.com can exclusively reveal.
The centre-back had represented the land of his birth Canada on three occasions for the U-20 side before switching nationality to represent England in 2016.
He was an U-20 World Cup winner with the Three Lions in 2017, having earlier captained The Canucks to a 2-1 victory over England.
Now firmly established as a starter for Derby County in the English Championship, Tomori who qualifies to represent Nigeria through his parents was contacted by the NFF but the 21 year old turned down the offer to play for Nigeria.
Tomori has his eyes set on progressing through the various youth levels of the national teams of England before making the step up to the main team in few years time and his performance at Derby County has led to talks about a chance with the first team of Chelsea next season.
