Anglo-Nigerian forward Keanan Bennetts is a target of coach of the Nigerian U20 team Paul Aigbogun if the team qualifies for the World Youth Championship later this year.
Keanan joined Borussia Monchengladbach from English Premier League side Tottenham Hotspur last summer and has trained with the first team before injury stopped him from a debut with the team.
For the youth team he has made 11 appearances and Aigbogun says he will give the Nigerian team balance if he gets the all clear to play at the World Youth Championship.
” I like him a lot. Left footed, quick and very skillful with nice movements off the ball. He’s one of the players I’m monitoring ahead of the World Youth Championship if we qualify from the Africa U20 Cup of Nations “, the coach told Owngoalnigeria.com in an exclusive chat.
His younger brother Jayden trained with the Nigerian team but Watford recalled him for a cup game for their youth team and in the process deny him the chance to make the Nigerian squad for the Africa U20 Cup of Nations.
The Africa U20 Cup of Nations will serve as the qualifiers for the World Youth Championship and Aigbogun is hopeful of picking a ticket with the Nigerian team.
