On loan Liverpool forward Taiwo Awoniyi has once again made the Belgium team of the week after the latest round of the games following his latest strike for Mouscron in their 1-1 draw away to Standard Liege.
The goal was his sixth in seven games since his move to Mouscron in January after terminating his loan deal with Gent where he failed to find the back of the net in 16 league games.
His performance has not gone unnoticed and the forward was once again handed a role in the Belgium team of the week as compiled by Belgium sports news site Voetbalkrant.com.
Awoniyi’s inclusion comes hot on the hells of his exclusion from the latest squad released by coach of the senior national team of Nigeria for the games against Seychelles and later Egypt. They are reports that he will lead the line for the U23s in their U23 Cup of Nations Qualifiers against Libya.
On loan from Liverpool till the end of the season, it is believed he will be given a chance to stake a claim in the first team of Liverpool next season if he maintains his current form but it is still depending on him securing a work permit.
