Coach of the U17 team of Nigeria Manu Garba says red hot 16 year old forward Olakunle Olusegun has to keep working hard in order to achieve his dream of becoming a top striker.
Kunle scored his 4th goal for the Nigeria U17 team at the UEFA Assist Tournament in Turkey to power the Manu led boys to a 3-1 win over Angola further confirming his ratings as one of the top players to watch out for when the Africa U17 Championship gets underway.
The goal came after his hattrick against Montenegro and Manu feels he should do more for the team and also improve in certain areas if he want to be like Macauley Chrisantus, Victor Osimhen, Kelechi Nwakali, Isaac Success and Taiwo Awoniyi who all made their name while playing for the U17 team of Nigeria.
” I think he has what you need in a striker because he scores goals with ease but he seriously need to work on his all round play and also for the team as a whole. Hardwork never stops especially when you’re on the rise”, Manu told Owngoalnigeria.com.
Speaking on where he feel will be the best place for the ABS of Ilorin forward to blossom in Europe, Manu said it’s up the forward and his advisers but hinted that Belgium will serve him right due to their trust in young players.
” For now he should concentrate on qualifying us for the U17 World Youth Championship in Peru. In the long run a move to the Belgium league will no doubt aid his development due to their trust in young players. Particularly Nigerian players”, he remarked.
