A total of four players who are eligible to play for Nigeria at senior level have been called up to the U21 team of Germany for their next round of games, Owngoalnigeria.com reports.
Hertha Berlin Jordan Torunarigha and Felix Uduokhai of Wolfsburg were named in defence while the duo of Lukas Nmecha of Manchester City and Emmanuel Iyoha of Erzgebirge Aue made the list of forwards.
Nigeria have been busy holding talks with players eligible for the senior national team of Nigeria with coach of the U20s Paul Aigbogun meeting up with some players to convince them to team up with his squad for the World Youth Championship.
The coach was assisted in talks with the players by coach of the senior national team Gernot Rohr and so far a couple of them have agreed to switch allegiance to the Nigeria national team as exclusively reported by Owngoalnigeria.com.
However it appears the quartet of Torunarigha, Uduokhai, Iyoha and Nmecha will continue their progress with the youth teams of Germany. Rohr failed to convince the duo of Torunarigha and Uduokhai to switch allegiance to Nigeria before the World Cup.
