Lokomotiv Moscow of Russia defender Bryan Idowu is in contention to make the squad of the senior national team of Nigeria for the upcoming Africa Cup of Nations in Egypt.
Idowu lost his spot as first choice left back to Jamilu Collins after the World Cup and since then his club form has also suffered but that his not the case anymore as he has played in their last four league games.
Gernot Rohr included the 25 year old Russian-Nigerian in his squad with doubts surrounding the availability of Tyronne Ebuehi who is still recuperating from the injury that brought his season to an end.
Also the coach handed a recall to Simy Nwankwo who has been in fine form for Serie B side Crotone after a slow start to the season which saw him try to engineer a move away from the club.
Simy is already into double figures in terms of goals scored and despite the emergence of Paul Onuachu, Rohr still believe he deserve a chance to push for a spot in the squad for the Africa Cup of Nations.
