As many as eight players have been dropped from the Nigeria U20 team who are in Germany for camping ahead of the start of the World Youth Championship in Poland on the 23rd of May.
Owngoalnigeria.com exclusively gathered that coach Paul Aigbogun has already informed the players who won’t be making his 22 man list for the tournament ahead of time before officially naming his team.
The coach has drilled the players for close to two weeks in Germany while the local lads were in camp for two months before the trip to Germany, where they have played three friendly games as part of preparations.
We gathered as many as five players who have represented other nations before switching allegiance to Nigeria were affected by the purge while six players who were part of the U20 team to the Africa U20 Cup of Nations were also axed.
Aigbogun will release the list of 22 players by the weekend with as many 12 new players who didn’t play at the Africa U20 Cup of Nations expected o make the team as part of the beefing up of the squad promised by the coach after the U20 Cup of Nations.
