Wolfsberger Stop Ex Man City Defender Ash Kigbu From Joining Nigeria U20 Team For WYC

20 year old former England youth international defender Ash Kigbu won’t represent Nigeria at the U20 World Youth Championship, Owngoalnigeria.com can exclusively reveal.

Kigbu switched allegiance to Nigeria from England and that led to a call up to the U20 team of Nigeria preparing for the World Youth Championship in Poland but his team Wolfsberger AC refuse to release him.

Austria based Wolfsberger AC turned down his request to represent Nigeria at the U20 World Youth Championship as he has grown into a first team player at the club, hence they will need his services with the league still on.

So far he has played 8 games for the team in all competitions, 4 in the league, 3 in the RL Mitte and one in the OFB-Cup although his 8 league appearances saw his raked just 45 minutes game time collectively.

The coach of the Nigerian team Paul Aigbogun has already prepared his team in his absence with the defensive midfield duo of Mohammed Zulkifilu and Jamil Mohammed expected to fill the central defence position alongside Valentine Ozornwafor, Aliu Salawudeen and Igho Ogbu.
