Following the withdrawal of Samuel Chukwueze from the Nigeria U20 team for the U20 World Youth Championship in Poland, the battle for the vacuum created by his absence has sparked a battle between players in the camp of the team, Owngoalnigeria.com understands.
The wing position the 19 year old Villarreal winger would have claimed is now vacant and the chase for the spot has been reduced to just two players in Success Makanjuola and Sor Collins.
Makanjuola has impressed the coaches with his ability on and off the ball particularly with his crosses and just like Chukwueze he plays with the left foot as well.
36 Lions Sor Collins is view by the technical crew to be as fast as Super Eagles captain Ahmed Musa although he doesn’t have same end product from crosses like Makanjuola.
There’s every chance of both players making the final 22 man squad of the team where they will continue the battle for a starting spot when the tournament gets underway on the 24th of May.
