As the new head coach of the senior national team of Nigeria Eric Chelle begin preparation for his first game in charge, which will be the world cup qualifiers in March there is the likelihood that he will be without at least five players of the team, OwnGoalNigeria.com reports.
Chelle will begin his tour around Europe, where he will meet with some players of the team to explain his ideas and plans for the team when they regroup for the games against Rwanda and Zimbabwe receptively.
Some players will certainly not be in the mix per what we exclusively gathered with Sevilla forward Kelechi Iheanacho not in the plans of the coach , no thanks to his poor form for Sevilla where he has failed to nail down a starting spot since his move in the summer.
Leicester City midfielder Wilfred Ndidi is currently out injured and might be sidelined for another one month , which could mean he doesn’t return to action until the first week of March, and it could probably be too short for him to be included in the squad for two games in four days.
The same situation is what Samuel Chukwueze of AC Milan is facing , with his return date pegged at 1st of February barring any setback but still walking a tight rope in his bid to be available for the game.
In defence Chelle will be hoping for some good fortunes on the injury front with the duo of Gabe Osho of Auxerre and Semi Ajayi of West Bromwich Albion are in a race to be fit for both games. The centre back duo are both out injured with Ajayi set to return in March after surgery while there is no timeline for the return of Osho.
