Efe Ambrose nightmarish season appears not to be coming close to an end anytime soon after the Nigeria international was left out of the match day squad in Celtic 0-1 win over Kilmarnock.

The return of Dedryck Boyata from suspension knocked him out of the squad completely contrary to reports that he might be injured.

Since the 31st of January when he got sent off against Ross County in a league cup game he has only played one minute of club football which came during their 1-2 win over Patrick Thistle when he came on during time added on after regulation team.

27 year old Ambrose will reportedly leave Celtic in the summer despite signing a new contract two years ago owing to his poor showing this season.

He has only 16 league games to his name, his worst tally since joining Celtic in the summer of 2012, a turnout which should trouble handlers of the senior national team of Nigeria as he is one of the fit central back in Europe after injuries to Leon Balogun and Kenneth Omeruo.
