The impending transfer of Okiki Afolabi of Sunshine Stars to an unnamed team in Argentina has suffered a big set back with another party claiming ownership of the player who is presently the joint top scorer in the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL).

Okiki reportedly traveled to Argentina with re-known licensed intermediary Marcelo Houseman as a player of Sunshine Stars who have not been paid his entitlements for several months and hence can terminate his contract and move on for free but a source revealed to Owngoalnigeria.com that the 22 year old forward was on loan to Sunshine Stars.

The source further revealed they had a deal wrapped up for the man who has 13 goals in the Nigeria Premier League but the forward absconded for three days from training, switched off his phones before reports came out that he is in Argentina ready to join a team on a four year deal.

“If Okiki is terminating his deal with Sunshine Stars on the fact that he is been owed salaries he should be returning back to his parent owners and not travel out with a complete stranger as we loaned him to Sunshine Stars” a source told Owngoalnigeria.com.
