New Manchester City signing Nolito has been handed jersey number 9 by manager Pep Guardiola, same number Nigerian teen sensation Kelechi Iheanacho would have love to swtich to from his present jersey number 72.
New manager Pep Guardiola signed Nolito, a player he has worked with at Barcelona causing fears among City faithfuls that their breakaway teen of last season could fall further down the pecking order and this recent act by the manager has further heightened their fears.
Iheanacho according to our chats with him wanted to switch to the vacant shirt number 9 from his present number 72 which is usually worn by players in the academy of the club.
19 year old Iheanacho had his breakthrough at Manchester City last season scoring 14 goals in all competition under manager Manuel Pelligrini who was replaced by Guardiola at the end of last season.
However he could still switch to another vacant number before the start of next season as according to sources close to the player he is very much a part of the plans of the manager.
