Ezenwa – I’m Working Hard To Displace Uzoho As Super Eagles First Choice Goalkeeper

Enyimba FC shot stopper Ikechukwu Ezenwa says he will keep working hard in training until he is back as the first choice goalkeeper of the Nigerian senior national team which currently has Francis Uzoho as first choice.

Ezenwa kept the last three qualifiers for the World Cup 2018 in Russia but lost his spot to the young Uzoho who found favour in the eyes of the technical crew after impressing in a friendly game against Argentina.

Uzoho kept in all of Nigeria’s friendly game prior to the World Cup and did same at the World Cup proper in the three games the Super Eagles played at the tournament.

He maintained his number one spot in the first competitive game after the World Cup which was the 2-0 win against Seychelles and the Elche shot stopper looks set to retain his spot tomorrow against Libya.

” Everybody like to play but you have to work hard if you want to play. I am seriously working hard and I will keep working hard because that will help my bid to be the number one goalkeeper”, Uzoho said at yesterday’s post match conference.

” Whoever gets selected to play will definitely get the support of the other goalkeepers. The main thing is to ensure that we pick up the three points from the two games”, he concluded.
