Stevenage Goalkeeper Onaiwu Commits To Nigeria Ahead Of England, Accepts Invitation To Nigeria U20

Coach Paul Aigbogun of the U20 team of Nigeria has extended an invitation to Stevenage‎ highly rated 18 year old goalkeeper Edward Ogbebor-Onaiwu following his pledge to play for Nigeria ahead of England.

Ogbebor-Onaiwu will team up with the Nigeria U20 team who are presently in camp gearing up for the upcoming WAFU tournament with the coaches expecting him to push first choice Daetan Ogundare for the first choice spot.

Few years ago, the former Charlton youth team goalkeeper trained with the Nigeria U17 team but failed to make the squad of the team, who were then knocked out of the qualifiers for the Africa U17 Cup of Nations.

His development has seen him spend time with the youth teams of Crystal Palace, Charlton Athletics and AFC Wimbledon ‎before his move to Stevenage in August this year.
