Jamilu Collins didn’t have a very good display in the first half for Nigeria against South Africa in the AFCON 2019 Qualifiers tie which ended 1-1 according to coach of the Nigerian team Gernot Rohr.

Collins started as a left wingback in the 3-5-2 formation used by Rohr against Bafana Bafana. In previous games he has played as a left full back in a back four for the Super Eagles.

Speaking at the post match conference Rohr admitted that Collins who played from the left struggled in the first half but subsequently did very well in the second half of the game.

The coach praised the duo of midfielder John Ogu and goalkeeper Ikechukwu Ezenwa for their efforts during the game which saw them come in as replacements for first choice players who were unavoidable absent.

” We played a formation which we think is best for the game and it took us a while to get it right. We had problems from the left side in the first half but Collins did very well in the second half after the half time talks. I think we played better in the second half “, Rohr said.
