Samuel Kalu Bags Assist For Bordeaux In Europa League, Explains Why He Arrived Late From International Duty

Nigeria international winger Samuel Kalu once again showed his relevance to French Ligue 1 side Bordeaux with an assist in their 2-0 win over Slavia Prague in the Europa League.

The Nigerian was in the news for the wrong reason after arriving late from international duty with the senior national team of Nigeria, a situation which saw him drop to the bench in their last league game.

He was reinstated back into the starting line up for the visit of Slavia Prague and he didn’t disappoint as Bordeaux move up to four points with a win and also ‎keep their hope of progressing from their group ahead of the last round of games intact.

Explaining the situation that almost made the club fine him, the forward said it was caused by a break in communication which was caused by fatigue following his late arrival from Nigeria due to flight issues.

According to Kalu the issue has been resolved and he is now back in favour at the club and he thanked the management of the team for their understanding which he said will make him work out a better traveling plan next time.
