Fresh from his failure to make the U17 team of Nigeria for the upcoming Africa U17 Cup of Nations in Tanzania, 15 year old Lateef Omidiji Junior says he is done with his ambition of wanting to play for Nigeria.

Eligible to play for Nigeria, USA and the Netherlands, Omidiji who was part of the U15 team of Nigeria to the Africa Youth Games in Algeria last year where they finished second behind Morocco, he was hoping to make the U17 team for the Africa Cup of Nations.

He trained with the team for one month but wasn’t selected in the final list of players for the tournament which was made public few days ago by the Nigeria Football Federation ( NFF) as submitted by coach Manu Garba.
