Hoffenheim German-Nigerian Striker Ekene Top List Of Foreign Pros Called Up To Nigeria U20 For WYC

Coach of the Nigeria U20 team Paul Aigbogun has called up 8 foreign based players to the camp of the team in Abuja for training before their departure to Germany for the final leg of preparations ahead of the World Youth Championship in Poland.

19 year old Hoffenheim striker ‎Chinedu Ekene tops the list of the invited foreign based players after agreeing to switch allegiance to Nigeria despite his eligibility to represent Germany, where he played for the U17s. Same as Bournemouth midfield ace Nnamdi Ofoborh who has already made his debut for the team.

Other include Jerome Akor of second division Norwegian side Sogndal , who is staging a return to the team after falling out of favour after the first round of qualifiers, although back then he was still playing for a local side in Nigeria.

Man City Dele Bashiru, Hamdi Akujobi of Heerenveen, IFK Goteborg Alhassan Yusuf, FC Midtjylland Jubril Abubakar and Rosenborg Igho Ogbu are the other foreign based players called up to team up with the home base at their camp in Abuja.

The rest foreign based players will join the team in Germany during the camping from where the final list of players for the tournament will be made public by the technical crew of the team.
