Hot in demand Nigerian forward Henry Onyekuru who has been linked with a move to a host of English Premier League clubs says he has been contacted by teams from England, Spain and Germany.

19 year old Onyekuru has taken the Belgium League by storm this season which is his debut season in the top flight league in Belgium with 17 goals and 6 assists despite playing wide on the left side of the attack of his team.

Bournemouth, Southampton and Liverpool are among the teams linked with a move for him in the summer with Scottish champions Celtic who failed to sign him in January still interested in him, while in Germany Borussia Monchengladbach are reportedly on his trail , same as Spanish La-Liga side Sevilla.

Responding to the links , the Aspire academy graduate says he has indeed made contact with teams in England, Spain and Germany regarding a possible move from Eupen in the summer.

” Clubs in England, Spain, Scotland and Germany have contacted me but I’m focused on my game. We still have games to play before the season ends, as for now my aim is on the games ahead of me” Onyekuru told Owngoalnigeria.com.

Celtic outcast Efe Ambrose has thanked manager of Celtic Brendan Rodgers for the role he played in his career despite a troubled spell at the club, which lead to his departure on loan to Hibernian in the Scottish Championship.

Leicester City star Ahmed Musa has formally divorced his wife and mother of his two kids Jamila according to the man who mentored the former Kano Pillars forward during his formative years in Nigeria.

Musa was arrested last week by the police for allegedly beating up his wife, but he was later released with the police dropping all charges against him for lack of evidence after a brief interrogation.

However his divorce is not connected to the issue that lead to his arrest , as according to his mentor, they have been having family issues over his plans to marry another wife, as permitted by Islam.

Under-performing Arsenal Nigerian forward Alex Iwobi who has been demoted to the U-23s has received backing from his first team teammate Granit Xhaka.

Iwobi has failed to hit same height like last season around this time of the year last year , when he broke into the first team of Arsenal. A form which has made him the target of fans of the club as Arsenal continue their struggle to break into the top four.

Xhaka is however of a different opinion regarding the potentials of the Nigerian, as according to him the 20 year old stunned him when he first came to the club , before adding that Iwobi has all what is needed in a forward.

Former Nigeria U-17 and 20 captain Musa Muhammed who is on loan to Bosnian side NK Zeljeznicar from Turkish side Istanbul Basaksehir has surprisingly failed to nail a starting spot for the team.

The Super Eagles right back joined the team in January in search of playing time after failing to play a single league game in his 18 months stay with Istanbul Basaksehir has so far played just five games for the Bosnian outfit totaling 75 minutes.

In the league games he has played, he has mostly come in as a substitute but he started and played the entire duration of their cup game, his only start till date for the team.

Already , the 20 year old spot in the senior national team of Nigeria is seriously under threat as coach Gernot Rohr has warned him specifically to sort his club form or lose his spot in the team.

Coach of the Super Eagles of Nigeria Gernot Rohr appears to have closed the door in respect to home based players making the Super Eagles squad for their upcoming friendly games and competitive ties.

Nigeria will play two friendly games in France next month before taking on South Africa in the 2019 AFCON qualifiers on June 10 before back to back World Cup 2018 qualifiers against Cameroon.

For now advocates of home based players will have to less optimistic about the chances of any of the players making the squad for the game , as Rohr says Nigeria best players are based abroad.

” We have players we want to test with the upcoming friendlies. We will also look at some areas of the team that needs strengthening during the games, so we won’t call up players for the sake of it”, Rohr told Owngoalnigeria.com.
