Exclusive – Moses Simon Speaks On West Brom Links, New Hairstyle and Super Eagles Under Rohr

0

Owngoalnigeria.com caught up with Super Eagles and Gent of Belgium star Moses Simon for an exclusive interview on his future with his current team amid talks of a move to West Brom, and his new hairstyle.

OGN – Congratulation on the fine showing of your team in the Play-Offs

SIMON- Thanks a lot, but we are obviously targeting a better finish as a team.

OGN- Your new hairstyle Marouanne Fellaini inspired I guess?

SIMON – Not really, I just want to look a bit different, it’s also a sign of how confident I am as the season draws to an end.

OGN – Talking about the season coming to an end, are you aware of reports of West Brom interest in you services in the summer?

SIMON – I read about it on the pages of newspapers just like you. I must confess it is my goal to play in England someday, and if at all there’s any contact or interest from West Brom or any club only my club and agent can speak on it, my focus is on Gent for now.

OGN – How confident are you that Nigeria will be at the World Cup 2018 in Russia?

SIMON – We are four points ahead of Cameroon that alone should give me confident about our chances of making it to the World Cup, but we have games to go before the qualifiers comes to an end, so we have to stay focus and not give other team the chance to put us under pressure or catch us.

OGN – What will you say is the secret behind the Super Eagles newly found form under Gernot Rohr?

SIMON – I can’t really say but I believe we are stronger as a unit now and more experienced. Even the senior players we have in the team have also played a part. You see most of us in the team have played together at various youth level for Nigeria in the past as well, That has also helped cohesion both on and off the pitch.

OGN – Thanks for your time

SIMON – You’re welcome

Odey Need To Get Better, I Have A Man City Striker In My Team – Rohr

0

The chances of MFM forward Stephen Odey getting a call up to the Super Eagles has been played down by coach of the team Gernot Rohr.

Rohr watched the Nigeria League top scorer last weekend when his side defeated El-Kanemi Warriors 3-0, with Odey scoring a penalty in the game for his 14th goal of the season.

However Rohr has suggested he has better players in his team right now, and Odey needs to improve to stand a chance of breaking into his team due to the quality of options at his disposal.

” The door is always open for the best players. The players based in Nigeria must prove themselves with the CHAN team first”, Rohr said.

” I hope Stephen Odey can get better because I have a Manchester City striker ( Kelechi Iheanacho) in my team”.
