On loan Chelsea defender Kenneth Omeruo has earned praises from the press in Turkey due to his performances for his loan side Alanyanspor.

Not so known as a utility player, the 24 year old who started his senior national team career as a full back, has played in over four roles for Alanyanspor and didn’t look out of place.

Omeruo has been ever present for the team since joining them in the summer bar times when he was ruled out through injury or suspension.

While his talent has never been in doubt, this season he has added another dimension to his game by playing as a defensive midfielder in the last four games.

He has also played as a full back this same season, while he has also distinguished himself in his primary role as a central defender when he plays there.

Super Eagles midfield hardman Ogenyi Onazi continued his splendid performances for Trabzonspor in the Turkish league by starring in their 4-0 thrashing of Gaziantepspor.

Onazi has been very impressive in their last three games and the former Lazio man started against Gaziantepspor, but had to be substituted after picking up a caution in the 44th minute.

However before his substitution, he was very instrumental in his team commanding 3-0 lead, and after his substitution Ugur Demirok penalty sealed the win for them.

Raheem Lawal who left Osmanlispor for fellow Turkish side Kayserispor was one of the star performers for his new team as they shock Fenerbahce 4-1.

Lawal lasted 66 minutes before he was replaced by Landry Nguemo, he however gave a good impression of himself for the duration of time he was on the pitch.

Obi has already suffered two injuries this season, and he only recently just returned from another before limping off after 30 minutes after suffering a set back.

Simon started on the left flank of a three man attack, and was by far the best player on the pitch for Gent, who also had Samuel Kalu in the starting line up.

Kalu operated from the right and gave a good account of himself before he was substituted with six minutes left to play.

Little known Nigerian forward Fred Onyedinma was on for the final 18 minutes for Millwall in their 1-0 win over Watford in the Emirate FA Cup.

Millwall caused one of the upset in this weekend FA Cup fixtures by dumping Watford out of the competition thanks to a goal from Steve Morison five minutes from full time.

Onyedima who was on when Morison scored also played a big part in helping his team survive a late onslaught from Watford, who were eager to level the scores.

Coach of the Super Eagles of Nigeria Gernot Rohr has voiced out his frustrations when it comes to securing Nigeria passport for players born abroad, who are eligible to play for Nigeria.

The Franco-German coach of the Super Eagles has been touring Europe to convince players who are eligible for Nigeria to commit their future to the team.

As exclusively reported by Owngoalnigeria.com, Russian born Nigerian full back Brian Idowu was omitted from the list of players for the last World Cup 2018 qualifiers against Algeria, due to passport issues.

According to Rohr, he has been severally told that to issue a Nigeria passport is not supposed to take much time, but that has not been the case most of the time.

Rohr: “I have been told the passports can be done in two days. But it’s not about talking about doing them. It is about doing them,” he says.

Rohr – We Need A Good Right Back, I Hope That Ebuehi Will Be Ready For The Next Game

Technical Adviser of the Super Eagles Gernot Rohr has revealed his eagerness to see Dutch-Nigerian full back Tyrone Ebuehi play for Nigeria as soon as possible.

Ebuehi was invited for the Super Eagles last competitive game against Algeria, but the 20 year old opt to remain with his team ADO Den Haag to establish himself in the team.

However in a chat with highly respected Nigerian journalist Osasu Obayiuwana Rohr said, he has a promise from the right back that he is now willing to play for Nigeria if called up.

Since taking over as coach of the Super Eagles, Rohr has used four players at right back in three games as coach of the team, with three of the four players played out of position to cover up for the lack of a proper right back.

Rohr has been searching for credible options in the right full back role of the Super Eagles, a situation he hope to fix with Ebuehi.

” I hope that Tyrone Ebuehi will be ready for the next Super Eagles game we play. We need a good right back”, he told Osasu in Gabon where he is working as a pundit in the ongoing Africa Cup of Nations.
