Hoffeinheim Target Henry Onyekuru Nets Goal Number Four In Belgium

Prolific 19 year old Nigerian forward Henry Onyekuru who is reportedly high on the radar of German Bundesliga side Hoffeinheim, did his reputation a whole lot of good with his 4th goal in 9 games for Eupen in Belgium.

Onyekuru scored the opening goal in as AS Eupen crash to a 1-4 loss at home to Royal Excel Mouscron in a league game decided at the Kehrwegstadion.

He now has 4 goals from the first nine games of the season in Belgium, two short of his total of 6 goals last season from 19 games while they were in the second division.

The Nigerian is one of the shining light of the newly promoted Belgian side, who are currently finding it hard to adjust to life in the top division as they are currently placed 15th on the 16 team table.

Eupen also has two other Nigerians on their books in Anthony Bassey and Odeni George Jamabo but the duo have made 6 and 1 appearances this season respectively.

Man Of The Match Moses Explains New Role Given To Him By Conte As Wing Back

0

Victor Moses who picked up the man of the match award in Chelsea’s 2-0 win away to Hull City has revealed his thoughts on the decision of manager Antonio Conte, to play him as a wing back.

The use of the wing-back has been gaining more prominence in recent years, and Conte is no stranger to the philosophy, having deployed a similarly attack-minded Emanuele Giaccherini to great success in a similar position for his Italy team during their impressive Euro 2016 campaign.

The Nigeria international looked set to leave South-West London in the past, having been shipped out on loan to Liverpool, Stoke City, and West Ham in successive seasons following his first season at Stamford Bridge in 2012/13. But since the arrival of the innovative Italian, Antonio Conte, the 25 year old winger has been getting more game time, whilst being invented as a wing-back

Last season for West Ham, Moses scored one goal and made one assist in 21 appearances. This season, in just 153 minutes of football, he’s already equalled his scoring tally from 2015/16 and created four chances – all from a more withdrawn position.

“There is a lot to do, but I have to graft in, go up and down and I kind of enjoy it – getting a lot of one-on-one situations,” the industrious winger said after his side’s 2-0 win away to Hull City.

From his role as a wing back he has won an impressive 67% of his tackles as a wing back. A stat that shows he has adapted to his new role with ease since the start of the season in England.

Madu’s last involvement in a competitive game was for his former side AS Trencin against Zilina on the 28 of September, a game they lost 4-0 shortly before his move to Zulte-Waregem.

At Zulte Waregem, he has made the match day squad but he is yet to play a single game for his new side, leaving many to question his inclusion in the team, same as that of Musa Mohammed who plays for Istanbul Basaksehir in Turkey.

He joined Hacken in January and in 21 games, he is just six goals shy of his overall tally for Atvidaberg in three seasons, a sign of the purple patch he has hit in front of goal this season.

His goal was two minutes after Bournemouth took the lead through Joshua King and it was enough to help them pick up a point at their home ground Vicarage road.

It has taken a while for the former Nigeria youth international to settle down to life in his new surroundings, but in the last few weeks he has showed signs that he is getting back to his best shape.

An injury picked up during pre season made him missed most of their games, hence a slow start to life in the English Premier League after three full seasons in the La-Liga with Granada.
