Nigeria Under-17 Trainee Akiotu Stars In Crystal Palace U23s Win Over Hull City

Former Nigeria Under-17 trainee Jason Akiotu picked up an assist as Crystal Palace U23s power their way to a 3-1 win over their Hull City counterparts in a Premier League 2 clash.

Akiotu who had trials with Leicester City towards the end of last season recently signed professional terms with Crystal Palace, a sign of the fate the club has in his abilities.

Emmanuel Emenike opened his goal account in the Turkish League this season with a goal on the stroke of half time in Fenerbahce 5-1 win over Kasimpasa, in a League game decided on Monday night.

According to the media in Azerbaijan Nigerian striker Victor Emenayo who was recently signed by Azerbaijani top division side Shahdagh Qusar FK, is 17 times older than the age (23) that is on his international passport.

According to his international passport the forward who has already made his debut for his new side was born in 1993. Wenger: Iwobi Must Keep His Humility

Arsene Wenger has praised Nigeria international Alex Iwobi for his dazzling display against Hull City on Saturday, but says the 20 year old must continue to keep his feet on the ground.

The Nigerian had a hand in two of the four goals Arsenal scored against Hull City. The second time in a week he is posting impressive perfromance for the gunners after his fine display against PSG in their midweek UEFA Champions League 1-1 draw in France.

“Yes, he had a good performance, and you want him to improve,” the manager said at full-time.

“He is 20 years old, and I think he has talent, he has ambition, he has a big passion for the game and until now he has humility. We have to take care that he keeps that quality, because it’s an important one.

“But he has gained confidence and power. I believe as well he has a good combination between quick passing, picking players out and running with the ball. He gets that balance right, until now, and that’s not easy.”
