CHAN Ace Paul Onobi Sees Red In Finland

Former Sunshine Stars of Akure midfielder Paul Onobi took the walk of shame late into KuPS heavy 0-3 loss to VPS in a Veikkausliiga game in Finland.

The four Nigerians on the books of KuPS namely Azubuike Egwuekwe,Aliyu Abubakar, Gbolahan Salami and Onobi started the game for the 5th place team who were beaten by 3rd placed VPS.

Onobi got his first caution during time added on before the end of the first half before he was dismissed in time added on after regulation time of 90 minutes.

Since joining KuPS in the summer he has made 13 appearances in the league picking up a booking before today’s game which he got sent off for two bookable offenses.

He was a member of the Nigeria B team to the last Africa Nations Championship popularly referred to as CHAN in Rwanda which Nigeria failed to progress past the group stages.

According to reports exclusively gathered by Owngoalnigeria.com, the impending arrival of Nigerian forward Victor Osimhen is the reason why German Bundesliga side Wolfsburg were quick to sanction the transfer of Andre Schurrle to Borussia Dortmund.

Osimhen top striker for the Nigeria Under-20s who recently failed to qualify for the 2017 Africa Youth Championship following a 3-4 loss to Sudan over the weekend joined Wolfsburg after emerging as top scorer at the last U-17 World Cup in Chile.

Owngoalnigeria.com can however confirm that he will resume with Wolfsburg in November, a month to his 18th year birthday which will be on the 29th of December when his contract will turn into a professional one.

Already he has been promised he will be joining the first team before he agreed to shun offers from elsewhere to join the German side and the departure of Schurrle is one of the many steps the club is taking to smoothen his path to the first team before his arrival.

SC Braga Promotes Nigerian Starlet To First Team

Former Nigeria youth international Chidi Osuchukwu has been promoted to the first team of Portuguese side SC Braga, Owngoalnigeria.com understands.

Since signing a four year deal with the Portuguese team in 2013 he has spent most of his time with the B team with just one first team appearance to his name which was in 2014 when he came on as a 59th minute substitute in a game that ended 1-1.

22 year old Osuchukwu was a part of the Nigeria U-20 team to the World Youth Championship in Turkey in 2013 and following his promotion he has been involved in pre season with the first team.

However his Nigerian counterpart at the club, Ogana Ugochukwu Lois is still with the B team of Braga with no report of a promotion to the first team despite his fine pre season form.

20 year old Ogana joined Braga last season from Portuguese third division side Ribeirao where he spent two seasons scoring 15 goals from 34 appearances.

In his first season with Braga B ge scored 8 times from 29 games but he has so far scored in all but one of their pre season games.

Arsenal’s latest signing Kelechi Nwakali has confirmed to close friends and associates that he will arrive Arsenal to begin his career with the Gunners on Saturday the 30th of July 2016, Owngoalnigeria.com understands.

However what would have been a perfect day for him ended with the forward being booked in the 19th minute when he scored for excessive celebrations when he scored and he got substituted in the 54th minute.

United Arab Emirate recently relegated Football club Al-Fujairah have completed the signing of 22 year old Nigerian forward Olanrewaju Kehinde as a replacement for fellow Nigerian striker Friday Eze who recently joined Al-Qadisiyah of Saudi Arabia on loan.

Last season Kehinde defended the colours of two different Israeli side, spending the first half of the season with Hapoel Kfar Saba before moving in January to Hapoel Acre.

In total he made 26 appearances for both teams with 5 goals to his name, four of which he scored for Hapoel Acre, a poor return of goals going by his tally the previous season.

Kehinde who until recently was owned by top Israeli side Maccabi Tel Aviv scored 20 goals to power his loan side Hapoel Afula to promotion in the 2014/2015 season but still wasn’t giving a first team chance by Maccabi Tel Aviv.

Bello Envor John Moves To Turkey

Well traveled Nigerian forward Bello Envor John has reached an agreement with Turkish side Modafen regarding a transfer which will be made official this week.

Envor will travel in the company of the General Manager of Ace Academy Muritala Raji Mohammed to sign the deal this week in a move that will see the forward return back to Europe where he onced played in Cyprus.

Aside his stint in Cyprus the 22 year old also played in Egypt,Tunisia and Albania with different level of success but returned back to Nigeria after the expiration of his contract.

He will join Modafen as a free agent from his nursery team in Kaduna, Kakuri United where he is presently training to keep fit for the move.

Ace Academy GM Set For Trip To Turkey For Meeting With Club Presidents Of Turkish Team

The General Manager of fast growing Ace Academy, the Kaduna based football academy Murtala Mohammed Raji will later this week travel to Turkey for a meeting with four teams in Turkey.

Muri in a chat with Owngoalnigeria.com revealed he has already received his visa and has set up the meeting scheduled to hold this week upon his arrival in the country where they presently have three players.

” I have a meeting with the president of four different teams in Turkey, we looking at how we can have a player exchange programme with at least three of them that is our aim” He told Owngoalnigeria.

” We at Ace Academy are so concerned about the future of the youths we recruit into our set up, so we want to make sure they have enough option to better their life, that is why am heading to Turkey”.

Speaking on the failure of the Nigeria Under-20s to qualify for next year Africa Youth Championship, the soft speaking manager urged Nigerians to accept the apologies from the coaches and the players as one game isn’t enough to judge the progress they have made from U-17-20.

” Nigeria have made mistakes in the past by dumping teams and players after failure to qualify for a major event, this time around let’s dare to be different and stick with coach Emmanuel Amuneke and his lads, in the next two years they will shock us all”.

Ivo Sajh: I Will Transform Nigeria Football In Six Years

63 year old former Kano Pillars coach, Ivo Sajh says he can transform Nigeria football in two phases if given the job of the Technical Adviser of the senior national team of Nigeria.

Following Nigeria Under-20s 3-4 loss to Sudan that saw them eliminated from the 2017 Africa Youth Championship, Sajh in his mail made it clear than an holistic approach is needed to revive Nigeria football.

He further said he wasn’t surprised that the Flying Eagles lost to Sudan unlike the rest of the world because to him, the poor state of Nigeria Football is exemplified by the country’s poor ranking by FIFA where they are currently 70th in the world.

The Slovenian in a mail to the official email of Owngoalnigeria pointed out that he has both short term and long term goals for Nigeria football if he is deemed fit enough for the Super Eagles job following French man Paul Le Guen unwillingness to take the job.

His long term goals according to him should see Nigeria Football get back to the summit of global football in six years while he was silent on his short term expectations it obviously centres around qualification for the next major tournament.
