0

Villarreal have set their sights on 24 year old forward Kevin Carlos Omoruyi who distinguished himself for Swiss side FC Basel helping them to a domestic double, OwnGoalNigeria.com reports.

Last summer Villarreal raided the Swiss side for their top striker Thierno Barry, making the club to sign Carlos as his replacement but with clubs set to be showing interest in Barry they have turned to Basle to sign the player who replaced him.

Villarreal have slapped a price tag of €40m on Barry, a player they signed for €14m last summer with the idea of using the money to beef up their squad, and Carlos who was signed for €3m from Yverdon is part of their plans.

They see the forward who has played for Betis and Huesca in Spain as a like for like replacement for Barry in the event that rumors linking him with a move to Everton ends up as a reality.

Carlos is also on the radar of Serie A side Bologna as well as Lazio, but he prefers a return to Spain rather than a move to Italy, but he is however not ruling out any option at the moment.

Eligible for Nigeria and Spain at senior level, he has made it known that his intention is to play for the Super Eagles of Nigeria.

Agent Provide Update On Boniface’s Future At Leverkusen Following Appointment Of Erik Ten Hag

0

The agent of Nigeria international forward Victor Boniface has provided an update on his future at Bayer Leverkusen following the appointment of Erik Ten Hag as the new coach of the team.

Ten Hag replaced Xabi Alonso who left for Real Madrid and his departure has led to talks of an exit for Boniface, who was among the his first signings when he took over as coach and was key to the team winning the league and Cup two seasons ago by staying unbeaten all through their domestic games.

Although Alonso was at the helm when he had a failed transfer to Al-Nassr of Saudi Arabia in January, the coach was however quick to bring him back into the fold after the entire drama ended up with his staying.

Reports say he is still the most likeliest to leave after the exit of Florian Wirtz who joined Liverpool for a club record deal. Boniface is seen as someone who is surplus to requirements after losing his spot in the final games of last season, and Atta Aneke sort to clear the air on his client’s future.

“Victor ended the season after his trip to the national team. He is now on holiday, will train hard during his holiday and then come back for pre-season training.

“There is a new coach, a new constellation, but still a very good team that is playing in the Champions League again. Victor and I have never discussed a transfer. We have not spoken to any other club. At the moment, there are no plans to leave Leverkusen. Of course, you never know in football, but Victor loves playing for Leverkusen”, he was quoted as saying by German publication Bild.

Chelle Acknowledge Players Born Abroad Who Are Keen On Playing For Super Eagles

0

Head coach of the senior national team of Nigeria Eric Chelle has no issue with players born abroad requesting to play for Nigeria but he won’t actively chase any of them unless they signify their interest of playing for the team, OwnGoalNigeria.com can exclusively reveal.

Chelle has already capped German born Werder Bremen defender Felix Agu in the Unity Cup, playing him from the start in the 2-2 draw against Jamaica in the final which Nigeria later won 5-4 on penalties. Agu is seen as the first of many who will switch to the team with the Malian at the helm.

However that appears not to be that case, the coach isn’t looking at that option for now, rather he is focused on the games in September and building his team, tactics and also style of play for the crucial world cup qualifiers games against Rwanda and South Africa respectively.

” Chelle has no problem with players born abroad playing for the team, but it won’t be his focus for now because the idea and the logic of his appointment is to qualify the team for the world cup. We are in a very dicey situation and it requires total concentration to tactics, players selection and also style of play for the September games. That is all he is concerned about”, a source close to the coach revealed.

Pressed on if that means Agu will be the sole name to be capped by the coach between now and the games , he remained coy but said there is always room for players who showed commitment to the cause of the team like Agu.

” You can’t say no to a player that you know will improve your team especially if he says he wants to play for your team. Nigeria need the best of legs for the games of the qualifiers regardless of where they are born but you have to be committed to get the attention of Chelle”, he stated.

We Are In Talks With Osimhen’s New Agent – Club’s Vice President Reveals Transfer Talks

0

The new agent of Nigeria international striker Victor Osimhen is currently locked in talks with Galatasary over a permanent signing according to the vice president of the team president Ibrahim Hatipoglu.

Osimhen famously turned his back on a big money move to Saudi Arabia side Al-Hilal following his impressive season while on loan to Galatasary from Napoli, who are demanding a fee in excess of €70m for his permanent exit.

Early reports this morning has it that Liverpool have held talks with his representative on signing him, but according to Hatipoglu talks for him to remain with them after the signing of Leroy Sane from Bayer Munich is progressing nicely with George Gardi, who now represents Osimhen rather than Roberto Calenda who was with him the past two years.

Gardi was key to Osimhen joining Galatasary last summer after a failed attempt to join Chelsea ended up leaving him with no option. “When they offered us Osimhen, we didn’t need a striker, but we signed him in two days.” Hatipoglu told AS via TMW.

“Abdullah Kavukcu, head of transfers, is handling the process alongside Italian agent George Gardi. With each passing day, the chances of Osimhen staying at Galatasaray increase.”

NFF Welcome Decision By Boniface To Quit Super Eagles – We Can’t Beg Him To Play For Nigeria

0

The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) will not stop Victor Boniface from quiting the senior national team of Nigeria following his post on Instagram, where he announced that he has quit the team.

24 year old Boniface made the announcement immediately after the 1-1 draw against Russia a week ago, a game where he once again posted a below par performance that led to his substitution after the half time break.

He later deleted the post but still hasn’t made a post to clear the air on the cryptic post leaving his future with the team open for discussion. A situation that has triggered reactions from a chieftain of the NFF.

” We can’t force a player to play for the national team of his country. By the time he officially communicate his decision to us (NFF), I can tell you nobody will attempt to stop him because it’s his decision and we have to respect it”, he told OwnGoalNigeria.com.

When we showed him an interview where the spokesman of the Federation said they knew Boniface was just joking with the post about his retirement from the team, he reacted by saying sensitive issues like that especially after a game where he played poorly shouldn’t be entertained.

” You don’t joke with sensitive issues like that especially immediately after playing poorly in a game. That is unacceptable and the sooner we start making players feel the effect of their behavior, the better it will be for the team. This is the senior national team of Nigeria for God sake”, he concluded.
