He went further to debunk reports that he had trials with Spanish side 4th division side Lleida Esportiu. ”
“Let me make this clear. Contrary to media rumours, I didn’t go for any trials in Europe. I’ve already made up my mind and know my next team. I wanted a new challenge after years in the Nigerian league, but it’s important to take it step by step and not rush.”

German League Winner States Commitment To Super Eagles After Snubbing Invitation From Ex Coach Finidi

0

Bayer Leverkusen winger Nathan Tella has stated his commitment to the senior national team of Nigeria despite turning down the chance to be a part of the team that played in the last round of international games, where they were involved in the world cup qualifiers, OwnGoalNigeria.com reports.

Tella who won the Bundesliga and German Cup in his first season at Leverkusen turned down the chance to be among the players for the 1-1 draw against South Africa and 1-2 defeat to Benin Republic due to family reasons.

It was rumoured that the 24 year old excused himself from the squad because of the manner he was treated by then coach Finidi George when he was called up, but didn’t get to play any minute of the two friendly games they played against Ghana and Mali respectively.

However a source close to the player says that is not the issue explaining that Tella had a pressing family issue that required his attention and that was why he turned down the invitation. He said Tella will honor subsequent invitation to the team.

” Tella had no issues with Finidi before his exit as coach. It was a pressing family issue that kept him away from the team and I can tell you that he will be available when next he is called up to the team”, he told OwnGoalNigeria.com.

You Lack Good Advisers, Proper Upbringing And Manners – Ex Super Eagles Winger Blast Osimhen

0

The outburst by the first choice striker of the Super Eagles Victor Osimhen towards former coach of the Super Eagles Finidi George has continue to generate reactions, OwnGoalNigeria.com reports.

Former Super Eagles ace Taiwo Oloyede who is legendary in the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL)  and played for the Super Eagles from 1994-1996 has joined the list of people who have aired their concerns over the act of the Napoli forward.

During his prime in the NPFL, he captained one of the most successful private clubs, the now-defunct Stationary Stores, and also played for Julius Berger, BCC Lions, 3SC, Sunshine Stars, Union Bank, and First Bank before his retirement.

He is currently a coach with the Elites, the Free Age, and also serves as the Assistant Technical Director for the Lagos State Football Association.

In an exclusive, no-holds-barred interview, Oloyede spoke about his transition into retirement, how he stays connected with the football community, his views on the current state of Nigerian football, and the recent controversy involving Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen.

“The pressure was too much on Finidi George, which was caused by a lack of loyalty to him. Most of the boys are not loyal to him,” Oloyede stated in an interview with SportsBoom.com.

“Like Osimhen talking to Finidi George. He must come out and apologise.”

“What has he done in his life that makes him better than Finidi? Is it money? Fame? Has he won the Champions League? Has he won the Nations Cup? Being the highest goal scorer in the qualifiers is not an achievement if it’s not repeated in the tournament proper.”

“Just because he was the highest goal scorer at his club when they won the Scudetto last season doesn’t give him the right to talk to Finidi like that. He’s very rude and going public to rant that ‘Ogun’ will kill somebody shows he was not brought up well. He also lacks good advisers to put him on track.”

Salisu Yusuf Back In Super Eagles Fold

0

The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) have stepped up plans for a new coach of the senior national team of Nigeria with a replacement for Finidi George likely to be known in two weeks time, OwnGoalNigeria.comreports.

NFF made it known in a communique that they will be on the lookout for a new coach of the team after the disappointment of the last international window, where the team led by Finidi were held to a 1-1 draw by South Africa before losing 1-2 to Benin Republic.

We gathered the idea is to have an entirely new setup with coaches who are experienced or have knowledge of the team making up the crew, which will be announced alongside the new head coach of the team.

Barring a late minute change of plans former head coach of the senior national team of Nigeria Salisu Yusuf will return to the team as one of the local coaches to assist the soon to be announced coach of the team.

Yusuf was the assistant to Rohr when the team made it to the 2018 world cup before he got caught up in a messy bribe for spot scandal by an undercover reporter masquerading as a football agent. It led to his suspension but he had since been given the license to resume coaching.

His return has already gotten the seal of approval from the hierarchy of the NFF , who are hopeful his wealth of experience will help whoever comes in as coach to help pilot the team to the 2026 world cup.

Nigeria’s iGaming platforms

0

In recent years, the gambling and online casino market has exploded onto the scene and is now one of the biggest genres in Nigeria. With this being played all over the world, Nigeria is really starting to catch up with other countries such as the United States to become a true powerhouse of Igaming.

With more and more players starting to play online, it’s no wonder Nigeria is making waves in the Igaming space. Many companies are doing as much as possible for newer players, for example Interac casinos make it easy for newer players by providing detailed guides and game descriptions allowing players to fully understand what they’re playing.

But what exactly is happening with Nigeria’s gaming scene and what is happening to make it grow at its current rate? In this article we’ll be taking a look into Nigeria’s Igamingplatforms and how they’re growing.

What is Igaming?

Ibetting is any form of placing a wager on anything via an online method. So betting on your favourite sports team or a game of roulette just to name a few. If you can place a wager, it’s classed as Ibetting. Ibetting has recently blown onto the scene in recent years due to more and more people in Nigeria gaining access to smartphones and internet access. This means there are more people than ever able to play and bet online.

Types of Igaming

There are numerous different types of Ibetting available in Nigeria, let’s take a look at just a few of them:

Roulette

A mainstay in most countries, Roulette is a simple game to play, a wheel is spun with red and black boxes and a wheel is spun, if you call the the colour the ball lands in, you win. Seems simple enough right? It’s a true fan favourite in most places and now online in Nigeria, it’s also growing in popularity and on its way to become an all time classic.

Poker

One of the oldest games around, there was no doubt poker would make its way to Igaming and become one of the top games. Just like in other countries, poker is a mainstay in the Igaming world in Nigeria, with many players making this their casino game of choice as the rules are widely known around the world as people have played it in person for many years.

Poker is truly one of those games that will still be around in one hundred years due to its popularity.

Blackjack

Another fan favourite in the casino world, blackjack has also been thrown into the world of Igaming in Nigeria. Just like Roulette, it’s loved due to its simple rules and how easy it is to learn, with dealer giving out two cards to each player. The one with closest to 21 wins. It’s an incredibly simple yet fun and addictive game to play and one that if you play correctly, you can have fun with for hours on end.

Football

Stepping into the world of sports, iGaming also covers sports such as football. Whether it’s betting on the Nigerian league or others around the world such as the Premier League, fans love to place bets on football games all over the world. The great thing about betting on football, is just how diverse your bets can be. Unlike roulette where it’s just red or black, football can be anything from goals scored, first scorers or even the amount of corners a team will have.

The options you have are virtually unlimited, with you being able to create your bet your way and tailor it to your own design.

How betting differs to different countries such as the United States and Canada

Igaming in America and Canada is different to Nigeria as the infrastructure was already there for America and Canada. People already had computers and access to smartphones and the internet. However whilst the majority of Nigerians now have these, it’s still a relatively new thing and some only recently gained access to these.

Because of this, a larger percentage of people play in America compared to Nigeria, however we fully expect this to rise and have no doubts they will get closer and closer to other countries in the next few years.

Nigeria is a country growing every year, and the Igamingindustry is no different. With more and more people starting to play online with betting, it’s no doubt in the near future Nigeria will start to catch up to other countries such as America and Canada.

Having said this, Nigeria still has an incredible player base and numerous fans across the country, with no sign of this slowing down.

Everton No Longer Interested In Free Signing Of Super Eagles Ace

0

English Premier League side Everton Everton have confirmed the signing of forward Iliman Ndiaye from Marseille on a five-year deal.

Ndiaye becomes Everton’s third senior signing of the summer, following the arrivals of central midfielder Tim Iroegbunam from Aston Villa and winger Jack Harrison on another season-long loan from Leeds United.

Heavily linked with Nigeria international midfielder Wilfred Ndidi due to the uncertainty surrounding the future of Amadou Onana, the club will however not be pursuing the free signing of the 27 year old per what we exclusively gathered.

Sources close to Ndidi told OwnGoalNigeria.com that despite officially leaving Leicester following the expiration of his deal, talks are still ongoing on a new deal and both parties are expected to reach an agreement soon.

He said if an agreement can’t be found then there is the likelihood of a move to fellow English Premier League side Nottingham Forest or abroad with teams in France, Germany, Spain and Italy in contact with his representatives.

NFF Chief – Top European Coaches Not Interested In Becoming New Coach Of Super Eagles

0

A member of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) says the delay in announcing a new coach for the senior national team of Nigeria is due to the lack of interest from top coaches who have what it takes to take the team back to the top, OwnGoalNigeria.com reports.

Nigeria is searching for a new coach for the Super Eagles after the departure of Finidi George following a poor outing in the last international round of games where they were held to a 1-1 draw by South Africa before losing 1-2 to Benin Republic.

In a communique made public, the NFF said they will appoint an expatriate coach to handle the team but since the announcement not much progress has been made, despite the fact that the team will be back in action in September for the AFCON qualifiers.

” The truth is that top coaches don’t want the Super Eagles job. They feel the team is in a tight spot to make it to the world cup and they won’t want to risk their reputation by accepting the role. It’s a huge problem for us but we hope to overcome it soon”, he told OwnGoalNigeria.com.

Asked on if there is a time frame for the appointment of the coach , he said it will likely be at the end of this month or the first week of August. ” Like I said we are hopeful because we have a list already and potential targets. Let’s say at the end of this month or the first week of August. Most definitely it will be before the next round of games”, he concluded.

Nottingham Forest Shows Super Eagles Striker The Exit Door – You Can Go

0

English Premier League side Nottingham Forest has started the process of trimming down their squad ahead of next season with the aim of having a better season than last time out, OwnGoalNigeria.com reports.

Their first priority is to focus on the players who are not in the plans of coach Nuno Espírito Santo and the list has Nigeria international striker Emmanuel Dennis who spent last season on loan to English Championship side Watford.

Dennis who was signed two seasons ago hasn’t found his range at the club and it has led to two separate loan spells.  He was expecting a fresh starting from pre-season but that won’t be the case.

Already his representatives have been told he should be on the lookout for a new club before the close of the summer transfer window. It is very likely that he won’t even go on tour with the team.

The 26 year old still has two years to run on his deal with the club, but they are willing to smoothen his exit by allowing him to leave for a fee less than £10m.
