Lacklustre Nigeria U23 Team Fail To Beat Guinea In U23 AFCON Qualifiers, Face Tough Test Away

0

The Nigeria U23 team played the first leg of the U23 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers tie against Guinea in Abuja and it ended in a 0-0 draw, OGN reports.

Both teams had a very poor first half with Nigeria coming the closest to breaking the deadlock when Ogunniyi Omojesu saw his effort come off the wood work. It was the only meaningful action of the first 45 minutes.

In the second half, Nigeria struggled to carve out any meaningful opening with coach Salisu Yusuf resorting to making substitutions but all failed to provide the spark needed to open scoring in the game.

Guinea who were well organized in defence and also looked deadly on the break hanged on for a 0-0 score with the hope of overturning the deficit when they host Nigeria in three days time.

The result has now piled more pressure on Salisu Yusuf, who has so far failed to convince since taking over as the coach of the team. Failure to qualify for the AFCON which is the qualifiers for the Olympics will no doubt but the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) under pressure to fire the coach.

10 Mistakes To Avoid When Betting

0

Are you looking to make the most of your betting experience? OdiBet free online registration is the perfect way to get started. However, it’s important to remember that just because you have registered doesn’t mean you can start winning straight away. To increase your chances of success, here are 10 mistakes that you should avoid when betting with OdiBet. Whether it’s understanding how odds work or knowing what bets offer the best value, these tips will help ensure that every bet is a successful one!

1. Not Shopping Around For the Best Odds

When placing bets, it’s important to shop around for the best odds available. Different sportsbooks will offer different lines on the same game, so always look for the best value. Even a small difference in the line can make a big difference in your return on investment.

2. Chasing Losses

No matter how good of an understanding you have of sports or betting, losing streaks are inevitable from time to time. It’s important not to chase losses by increasing your bet size or betting on games that you don’t have enough information on just because you want to quickly recoup losses from previous bets. Doing this is almost always a recipe for disaster and should be avoided at all costs.

3. Not Having Enough Bankroll Management Skills

Bankroll management is one of the most important skills that any bettor can have and it’s something that should never be taken lightly or overlooked. Managing your bankroll properly means knowing exactly how much money you have, what kind of bets to make and when, as well as setting limits for yourself in order to minimize losses and maximize gains over time.

4. Ignoring Key Statistics

There are many different statistics that go into determining how successful a bet might be and ignoring key ones could result in making poor decisions when placing wagers. Keeping track of relevant stats like team records, injuries, weather conditions and player performance can help provide insight into which teams may win or lose any given game and ensure that better decisions are made every time you place a bet.

5. Not Utilizing Handicapping Strategies

Handicapping is an important component of successful sports betting as it allows you to gain an advantage over the bookmakers by identifying trends and patterns in certain games or situations that could lead to better outcomes when betting on them. Utilizing handicapping strategies such as studying past results, analyzing team performances and looking at key statistics can give you an edge over other bettors who may be relying solely on luck or gut feelings when choosing their wagers instead of doing research beforehand..

6 Failing To Take Risk Into Account

When placing bets, it’s important to consider both reward potential as well as potential risk associated with each decision made beforehand in order to make more informed decisions down the road when similar situations present themselves again in the future. Taking risk into account means considering things like likelihood of winning/losing each individual bet, long-term profitability from betting on certain teams/players/events etc., whether or not there is any juice (percentage taken by bookmakers) involved with each bet placed etc., all before deciding whether or not taking such risks would be worth it in order for there to be potential returns later down the road if successful bets were placed instead of inaccurate ones due solely based upon luck instead of knowledge beforehand..

7 Not Understanding Risk vs Reward Ratios

In addition to taking risk into account whenever possible when making decisions about which bets are worth playing with real money involved, having an understanding about risk vs reward ratios is also essential for long-term success as well since this helps identify which types of wagers may potentially bring back bigger rewards yet still contain reasonable levels of risk attached associated with them too so that bad investments overall won’t become frequent occurrences either due low returns or large amounts lost due high risks taken without proper analysis beforehand..

8 Overconfidence & Taking Too Many Bets

It’s natural for excitement levels increase after winning consecutive bets since profits will start piling up quicker than normally expected; however sometimes this can lead to decreased judgmental abilities resulting in overconfidence where people may start taking risks they normally wouldn’t have taken had they done proper analysis beforehand; this could end up being fatal if multiple losses start occurring consecutively due bad decisions made while feeling invincible simply because there had been past successes prior..

9 Betting On Emotions Rather Than Logic

While emotions do play a role in betting – especially if personal favorites are involved – basing decisions solely off emotion rather than logic could result disastrously due lack knowledge regarding relevant statistics pertaining towards particular events/teams/players etc.; thus leaving many disappointed results later on down the line; unless there was proper analysis done prior then such happenings could’ve been easily avoided all together..

10 Not Knowing The Rules Of Sportsbook Bonuses & Promotions

Many different bonuses exist nowadays within various sportsbooks; however most people don’t pay close attention towards terms & conditions required for unlocking these bonuses before claiming them; which usually involves meeting

Tips for Beginners on Choosing the Right Bookmaker

0

Choosing the right bookmaker can be a daunting task for a beginner. With so many online gambling sites available, it can be hard to decide which one is best for you. To help make this decision easier, we have compiled a list of tips to help guide you through the process of choosing the right bookmaker.  You can read more helpful hints on Bet Helper blog at hand, getting started in online betting should be easier than ever!

Consider the Reputation of the Bookmaker

The reputation of the bookmaker is an important aspect to consider when looking for a reliable and trustworthy gambling site. A good way to determine if a particular bookmaker is reputable is by reading reviews and researching its history. Reviews provide insight into other users’ experiences with the site, while researching its history will give you an idea as to how long it has been in operation. Sites that have been around longer tend to be more experienced and reliable due to their longevity in the industry. Therefore, if you want to find trustworthy betting sites, look for those with a good reputation among both beginners and experienced bettors.

Look at What Markets are Available

When selecting a bookmaker, it’s also important to consider what markets are available. Different bookmakers offer different selections of markets such as football betting, horse racing betting, casino games and more. Before committing to one particular site, ensure that they offer all of your preferred markets so that you can enjoy maximum flexibility and convenience when placing bets.

Check for Bonuses and Promotions

Bonuses and promotions are also an important factor when it comes to choosing a bookmaker. Many gambling sites offer welcome bonuses or sign-up offers which can be beneficial if used properly. Although these bonuses may seem appealing at first glance, always read through the terms and conditions before signing up so that you understand exactly what is required in order to take advantage of them. Additionally, some sites may also offer ongoing promotions such as free bets or money back features which can increase your chances of winning big!

Read Through Payment Options

Payment options are an important factor to consider when it comes to choosing a bookmaker. Different sites offer different payment methods, so it’s important to make sure that the one you choose offers the payment method that works best for you. Some of the most popular payment methods offered by bookmakers include e-wallets, debit cards, credit cards and bank transfers. Each of these methods have their own pros and cons, so it’s important to do some research before selecting one. For example, e-wallets tend to be more secure than debit and credit cards as they don’t require personal information in order to make deposits or withdrawals. However, they may also come with certain fees that can add up over time. Debit and credit cards are convenient, but they can also be susceptible to fraud if not properly protected. Bank transfers tend to be the safest option, but they usually take longer for transactions to go through than other payment methods. Whatever payment method you choose, make sure that it is reliable and secure so that you can enjoy a safe and worry-free experience when gambling online.

Look at Customer Support Options

Customer support options should also be considered when selecting a bookmaker as they play an integral role in ensuring that users get help whenever they need it whilst using the site’s services. Most reputable operators offer 24/7 customer service via phone call or live chat so always check if these features are available when signing up for an account with them before depositing any money into your account! If not provided by default then see if there is any third party support options such as forums where questions can be asked about certain topics related to gambling sites in general or specific questions about certain sites themselves . This will enable users to get necessary information quickly without having to wait too long for responses from customer service representatives directly from their chosen operator .

Choosing the right bookmaker is an important step in ensuring a successful and enjoyable betting experience. Make sure to consider all of the factors above, such as reputation, markets available, bonuses and promotions, payment options and customer support before signing up with any online gambling site. By taking your time to research each operator thoroughly you can rest assured that you are making the most informed decision when selecting a reliable bookmaker for all your future bets!

How Salisu Messed Up Invitation Of Belgium League Goal-Monster Orban To Nigeria U23 For AFCON Qualifiers

0

The Nigeria U23 team will take on Guinea in the first leg of the final round of qualifiers for the U23 Africa Cup of Nations later today at the Moshood Abiola stadium in Abuja, OGN reports.

Ahead of the game coach of the Nigerian team Salisu Yusuf has been in camp for around two weeks drilling around 27 players in preparation for the game. The preparation hasn’t been smooth sailing with 16 out of the 30 players initially invited sent packing due to age discrepancies.

He called up 16 players based abroad with question marks on at least 11 of the players due to the limited game time at their clubs with some playing in obscure European leagues and low division.

One name that would have lighten their chances of getting past Guinea over two legs is Gent of Belgium hitman Gift Orban. The 20 year old who has taken the Belgium top division league by storm following his January transfer deadline day move.

Orban has scored 12 goals in ten games this season with 7 coming in just six league games and a three minutes hattrick in the Europa Conference League, which is a new record for European club competition.

It was his form that led to a call up to the Nigeria U23 team by the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) who decided to bypass the coach Salisu Yusuf, who wasn’t keen on having the ex Stabæk forward in his team.

His hesitation led to a delay in the invitation letter sent to Gent and falling outside the 14 days required by FIFA for clubs to be informed about the invitation of their players for national team engagement.

Although Salisu claimed the invitation was sent within the deadline of 14 days, his representative told OGN that he only got his letter of invitation last weekend after his haul against Zulte Waregem in the Belgium top division.

” Gift was invited a week ago. Gent made it clear in their reply to the invitation that the timing is short and they can’t prepare him for the game. The invitation came late and it was at their mercy to either accept or decline. That was what happened”, he said.

Training Report – Peseiro To Adjust Super Eagles Back Four For AFCON Qualifiers Against Guinea Bissau

0

The coach of the senior national team of Nigeria Jose Peseiro has been forced into adjusting his back four ahead of the first of the two Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers games against Guinea Bissau, OGN can exclusively reveal.

Peseiro’s team will on Friday take on Guinea Bissau at the Moshood Abiola stadium in Abuja but preparation for the game which was short has been affected by the absence of a key player in the plans leading to the game.

OGN exclusively gathered that because of the short time available for preparation for the game, Peseiro’s plan was to stick with three of the players who were in the back four in the 0-4 defeat against Portugal.

In the absence of William Troost Ekong who is out injured, the coach wanted to stick with the quartet of Bright Osayi-Samuel, Calvin Bassey, Kevin Akpoguma and Zaidu Sanusi a player he is familiar with at left back but that plans has now hit a brick wall of some sorts.

Sanusi is yet to arrive camp, meaning it’s either Bassey switches to left back or Boavista star man Bruno Onyemaechi gets his debut. Peseiro already experimented with the set up during yesterday’s training.

One Player Still Missing As 22 Super Eagles Star Step Up Preparations For AFCON Qualifiers Games Against Guinea Bissau

0

The camp of the senior national team of Nigeria ahead of Friday’s 2023 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers against Guinea Bissau is bubbling with 22 of the 23 invited players now available for the start of tactical training, OGN reports.

Top striker Victor Osimhen arrived yesterday after the team’s training session in the evening and will take part in training this morning with the rest of the players, who were put through their paces yesterday by head coach Jose Peseiro.

Peseiro already has an idea of how his starting lineup will look like and the possible tactics he will employ to get a good result against Guinea Bissau which will see them move to within one win away from a spot at the next Africa Cup of Nations.

However he could be forced into making one change into his preferred back four with Zaidu Sanusi still unavailable as at the time of this report. He was expected to be the left back for the game on Friday in a back four.

Zaidu’s absence could see the coach deploy Calvin Bassey to left back instead of the center back role he was earlier billed to play. His likely partner will be Kevin Akpoguma with Semi Ajayi also pushing for a starting spot. Below is the list of the 21 players in camp.

Akpoguma, Aribo, Lookman, Iwobi, Ajayi, Aniagboso, Uzoho, Ndidi, Bameyi, Omeruo, Onyeka, Simon, Onuachu, Osayi, Musa, Moffi, Sochima, Bassey, Onyemaechi, Chukwueze, Iheanacho, Osimhen.

Training Report – Stunning Display Of Newly Invited Goalkeeper Leaves Super Eagles Players In Awe

0

The senior national team of Nigeria had their first real training session yesterday ahead of Friday’s Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers game against Burkina Faso at the Moshood Abiola stadium in Abuja, OGN reports.

21 players took part in the session which was supervised by head coach of the team Jose Peseiro and his assistants. Three goalkeepers were part of the session which was interrupted by a power cut which forced them to bring it to a premature end.

New goalkeepers trainer, Abideen Baruwa Olatunji warmed the three goalkeepers in camp led by first choice goalkeeper Francis Uzoho and two newly invited goakeepers in Victor Sochima and Nigeria U20 shot stopper Chijioke Anigboso.

The goakeepers were made to face the players in several drill which includes shooting and as expected Uzoho was by far the most assuring but Anigboso was the one who stole the show with his reflexes and ball handling.

He dealt with crosses, held shots and commanded his area brilliantly all through the session much to the admiration of the other players in the team particularly the senior players.

During the shooting drills he stopped all that was aimed at him just like Uzoho. Sochima was beaten thrice. Chijioke’s performance is a follow up to his showing at the U20 Africa Cup of Nations in Egypt, where Nigeria who finished as third sealed a spot at the U20 World Cup.

Power Outage Forces Super Eagles To Cut Short Training Ahead Of AFCON Qualifiers

0

The senior national team of Nigeria had their first real training session ahead of the 2023 back to back Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers games against Guinea Bissau , OGN reports.

21 players took part in the session that took place at the Moshood Abiola stadium and was supervised by head coach of the team Jose Peseiro and his assistants primarily for the first of the two games against Guinea Bissau which will be held on Friday.

Peseiro and his wards were forced to cut short the session after an hour as it became dark with the public source of power unavailable, the plans to switch to an alternative source failed as the power generating plant at the stadium refused to come on.

OGN also noticed that the team didn’t come to training with their designated team bus, which we gathered is faulty. They came in a white bus hired by the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF ) as cover for the team.

They will have another session this morning with 22 players expected to take part following the arrival of top striker Victor Osimhen few minutes after the team’s return from training.

Salisu Yusuf Disgraced Nigeria With List Of Foreign Based Players Called Up To Nigeria U23 – A Look At The 16 Players

0

The Nigeria U23 team will take on Guinea in the first leg of their U23 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers game tomorrow in Abuja. Already the team have been training in Abuja under the guidance of coach Salisu Yusuf and his assistant Kennedy Boboye.

Their preparation wasn’t smooth sailing as 16 of the 30 invited players from the local scene were found out to be above the age forcing the coaches to call up 16 players based abroad for the game.

OGN editor in chief Mohammed Mowiz takes a look at the foreign players invited for the game using the amount of games they have played and if they merit a call up to the team.

1- Success Makanjuola (FK Liepaja, Latvia); Bello Babatunde (Future FC, Egypt); Isaiah Ejeh (Mjallby Alf, Sweden); Abiodun Ogunniyi (FK Auda, Latvia); Monsuru Opeyemi Abdullahi (FC Vizela, Portugal);

Mowiz – As the captain of the team and one who was key in the run that brought them to this stage, Makanjuola naturally picks himself despite the fact that he sparingly plays in Latvia following his move in January to Liepaja.

Ejeh has played just four minutes of senior football this season in Sweden but again he was a part of the team that played in the last round of qualifiers. However at club level he isn’t cutting it and has been demoted to the U21.

Ogunniyi popularly called Omojesu scored one of the goals that helped them beat Tanzania and qualify for this game. He hasn’t done badly at Latvian side Auda this season.

Opeyemi, A member of the 2019 Nigeria U17 team and had a very good pre season for Vizela and it earned him a starting spot in their first game of the season but since then he has been dropped to the U23s. Meanwhile his fellow Nigerian Friday Etim at the same club has played 12 games this season and even has a goal. Why the 20 year old striker wasn’t called up is what I will never understand.

Babatunde can easily pass as one of the best players in the Nigeria Professional Football League in his position as a midfielder while at Sunshine Stars and later Akwa United. However the fact that the 19 year old has only played one game in Egypt, where he is now means his call up can’t be said to be on current form.

2. Omole Akinyinka Olaoluwakitan (Athletic Newham, UK); Owen Tega Udoh (UD San Sebastian Reyes, Spain); Azeez Temitope Yusuf (Mjallby Alf, Sweden); Charles Uba (Lillestrom FC, Norway); Simon Omon (Clube Operation Desportivo, Portugal);

Mowiz – Olaoluwakitan plays non league football in the 9th division of English football for Newham. How was he scouted and how did he make the list? Only Salisu can explain.

The same way he only can provide answers to the invitation of Tega Udoh who plays in the Spanish 5th division and Omon who plays in the 4th division in Portugal, but Azeez of Swedish side Mjallby is an exciting talent right from his days at Gombe United. Credit must also be given to the crew on the invitation of Charles who has been a revelation in Norway this season for Lillestroem.

3. Ihekuna Maximillian Ugochukwu (FC Sfintul Gheorghe Suruceni, Moldova); Chukwudi Goodluck Igbokwe (KAA Gent, Belgium); Abass Saidi (Zagalata FC, Azerbaijan); Ibrahim Buhari (IF Elfsborg, Sweden); Gift Emmanuel Orban (KAA Gent, Belgium); Samuel Amadi (Eramica Cleopatra, Egypt)

Mowiz –  21 year old Maximilian palys in the top division in Moldova and has played 13 games this season with eye catching displays. Tipped to leave the team soon for a team in a top league. A good pick going by what I heard. 8 goals in 24 games for the B team of Belgium side Gent means Igbokwe might not be a bad player to have a look at.

However Saidi who is a bench warmer in a second division team in Azerbaijan is a no no by any stretch of imagination. Buhari is currently seen among the best defenders in Sweden at the moment, so his call up is justified. For Amadi he isn’t a regular just like Bello and how Emmanuel Orok who is the hottest Nigerian prospect in Egypt was snubbed is a head scratcher. For Orban, he needs no introduction.

Final Verdict – A shameful list with two many palyers who have no business in the team.
