Agent Speaks On Besiktas’s Interest In Signing Chidozie Awaziem From Boavista

The agent of Chidozie Awaziem Graham Heydorn has reacted to news in the Turkish media linking Boavista Nigerian defender Chidozie Awaziem with a move to Besiktas of Turkey.

Awaziem was signed on a permanent deal by Boavista from FC Porto after a successful loan spell last season for a fee which makes him the most expensive transfer in the history of the club.

Many see the move as a sign that he will e sold almost immediately this summer as severally teams are interested in his services and Boavista will make a hefty profit from the €5 million they spent on him.

Besiktas is among the teams keen on him but they want a loan deal with the option of signing him permanently next year for a nominal fee which has been reported to be below what Boavista want for the defender.

His agent Graham Heydorn however confirmed that Besiktas are indeed interested in Awaziem but they are one of the options he has for the 24 year old “ Besiktas is one of my many options”, he told OwnGoalNigeria.com when contacted about the interest of Besiktas in his client.

Huesca midfielder Kelechi Nwakali is among foreign based players under consideration to be a part of the Super Eagles squad for the July 4th friendly game against Mexico, OwnGoalNigeria.com understands.

Already coach of the Nigerian team Gernot Rohr has confirmed that the game will be prosecuted by largely home base players with Austin Eguavoen to stand in as coach.

Reports emerging from Port Harcourt has it that coach Stanley Eguma of Nigeria Professional Football League side Rivers United has been kidnapped by unknown gunmen.

Per a report on Nigerianfootballer.com, the coach was abducted along Enugu axis on his way back from their recent league game against Adamawa United which was played in Gombe State.

Eguma was said to be traveling alongside two of his personal assistants in his official car which is different from that of the players when he was abducted.

It’s still unclear if his assistants were also abducted as Rivers United are yet to release an official statement on the incident even though their coach hasn’t been seen for two days now.
