Iwobi Misses Open Net As Super Eagles Draw 0-0 Against Cameroon In Second Freindly Game

0

The Super Eagles of Nigeria once again failed to get the better of the senior national team of Cameroon drawing 0-0 after the first game which ended 1-0 in favour of the Indomitable Lions.

Cameroon started the game on the front foot and twice came close to scoring in the opening 15 minutes with Eric Maxim Choupo Moting denied at close range by Maduka Okoye minutes after Valentine Ozornwafor cleared a goal bound move off the line.

As the half wore on Nigeria saw lot of the balls but it was the Cameroonians who looked more likely to score but poor finishing meant the half ended in a barren affair.

Just as it was in the first affair between both nations, the Super Eagles improved after the break and showed better coordination in defence and attack which almost resulted in a goal.

Alex Iwobi missed the best chance of the game where he was clear on goal after a quick interchange of passes with Ahmed Musa but with the goalkeeper beaten he missed when it would have been easier to score.

That chance was the best of the game as it snowballed into half chances for both teams before the whistle was sounded for full time.

We Regret Signing You- Cologne GM Blast Fringe Super Eagles Player Emmanuel Dennis

0

General Manager (GM) of German Bundesliga side Cologne Horst Heldt has termed the signing of Nigeria international winger Emmanuel Dennis Bonaventure a bad signing.

Cologne were in a difficult position and in January with the option of signing just one player they went for the Nigerian on loan from Club Brugge where he was axed from the team after a row over a seat in the team bus.

The Nigerian was suppose to give the team a lift but he ended up making just nine appearances with Heldt confirming that he was taken out of the squad as they bid to stay in the Bundesliga.

They ended up preserving their top flight status after a play off win over Holstein Kiel and it was achieved without the 23 year old Nigerian.

“Last winter, for example, it was clear that we could only sign one player for economic reasons. We opted for the storm and brought Emmanuel Dennis.

“But Dennis didn’t work. It was a misjudgment. We knew that he was difficult in character”, Heldt said.

“We clearly did something wrong when weighing up the risks. The human component didn’t fit in the end and the risk we took with it was too great. We should have put character traits above possible sporting added value.

”That was a mistake that I admit and that will not happen to me again. In order to protect the group structure, we then took it out. That was a bad transfer.”

“Show Us Some Respect” – Super Eagles Players Unhappy With Rohr’s Comment About Their Qualities

0

Players of the Super Eagles of Nigeria have hit back at statement made by coach of the team Gernot Rohr while discussing the chances of the team in reaching the semi finals.

Rohr in an interview with ESPN said players of the Super Eagles don’t play in big teams and that is partly why they can’t dream of reaching the semi final of the World Cup.

“They have players playing in the best teams in Europe. We don’t, unfortunately have these players,” he told ESPN.

“Our players are playing in lower clubs. We don’t have these players like Egypt, like Senegal, like Cote d’Ivoire who are playing in the biggest clubs. Our players are playing in clubs who are not the best ones.
“When you see the world champions, France, the players are playing for Bayern Munich, Real Madrid, PSG, Manchester United.
“When we have players in the biggest teams, then we can say we have chance to get to the semifinal of the World Cup

That statement hasn’t gone down well with a couple of players with about three of them voicing their unhappiness in a chat with Owngoalnigeria.com on the condition of anonymity.

“ It looks like the coach in trying to stay modest has ended up making a mockery of our clubs. The team that won the AFCON had few players in big team. So how did they win it”, one of them told Owngoalnigeria.com.

“ I was a kid when the Senegalese team went all the way to the quarter final of the World Cup in 2002 and I also saw the Ghana team at the 2010 World Cup. Who are the stars in the team? It’s sad that he thinks that way about our clubs”, another said.

“ The idea has always been play for a team in a top five European League now it is playing for a team that competes for honours. How many countries have such? It’s not right that he used us to make a point the wrong way”, the third player we spoke with remarked.

What Skeptics Are Saying About COVID-19 Vaccine

0

As pharmaceutical companies – Johnson & Johnson, Pfizer, and Moderna TX – continue to push for herd immunity for COVID-19, skeptics are raising their voices. There is no doubt, every living, breathing humans should be concerned about the rumors surrounding the vaccine.

If you are not a skeptic, just someone who has concerns, experts recommend a one-on-one consultation with a medical expert. Contact your primary care physician to schedule a COVID-19 vaccine consultation at your earliest convenience. In the meantime, you may find the content provided in the article below helpful.

What Skeptics Are Saying?

Just ask the coronavirus skeptics what they think about the vaccine. Most skeptics refer to the COVID-19 vaccine as not being a vaccine. The Merriam-Webster Dictionary defines a vaccine as “a preparation that is administered (as by injection) to stimulate the body’s immune response against a specific infectious disease.” According to anti-vaxxers, the COVID-19 vaccine is not capable of providing immunity for any disease. Of course, the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) believes differently.

Skeptics refuse to believe the coronavirus vaccine is a vaccine, but a “medical treatment.” If this is the case, there is no guarantee the vaccine will offer any immunity against the virus. It is believed, taking the vaccine would do nothing to build up immunity. Instead, it would act as a treatment for the virus. This is the case for people who have never been diagnosed with the virus.

Advocates Pushing Back Against Skepticism

COVID-19 vaccine advocates continue to push back against skepticism. Advocates, such as politicians, celebrities, pharmaceutical companies, medical experts, and mainstream media outlets are pushing harder back harder than ever before. When someone comes out against the vaccine, hardcore advocates, especially mainstream media outlets, are there to ridicule.

Being an anti-vaxxer is far from being easy. Standing up for what you believe is never easy, especially when you are taking on some of the most powerful people and media outlets in the world. Not everyone has what it takes to be an outspoken COVID-19 vaccine skeptic.

Skeptics believe they have the right to call advocates “deceitful” and “manipulative.” If evidence provides the vaccine does not provide immunity against the virus, the skeptics may be onto something.

Being a COVID-19 anti-vaxxer is far from being easy. This is especially true for outspoken anti-vaxxers. When it feels impossible to reach your goal, it may be time to take a break. After a few casino games will be ready to pick yourself up, dust yourself off, and push forward.

Health Scare Rumors

The CDC is reporting COVID-19 vaccine side effects in teens and young adults. According to the report, teens and young adults are reporting side effects related to two serious medical conditions – pericarditis and myocarditis. Pericarditis is a condition characterized by inflammation of the pericardium, a lining that wraps around the heart. The onset of pericarditis symptoms includes chest pain that radiates from the breastbone up the left shoulder and neck. Symptoms worsen with movement, such as lying down, while leaning forward eases the symptoms.

Myocarditis is a condition characterized by inflammation of the myocardium, heart muscle. This is a serious medical condition that left untreated will lead to a heart attack, stroke, or death. Myocarditis has been linked to viral infections, which makes sense when reports claim teens and young adults have been diagnosed following the COVID-19 vaccine.

Bleeding Disorder Concerns

The National Hemophilia Foundation “NHF” released a report on May 18, 2021, addressing COVID-19 vaccine side effects in people with bleeding disorders. The organization claims people who have been diagnosed with bleeding disorders, such as von Willebrand disease and hemophilia, are concerned about blood clots. Media reports claim several people who had received the Johnson & Johnson/Janssen vaccine developed a condition known as Cerebral Venous Sinus Thrombosis “CVST.” Blood clots related to CVST generally develop in the venous sinuses in the brain. CVST blood clots stop the flow of blood from the brain to other parts of the body.

Summary

It is not unusual for skeptics to believe the coronavirus is part of a worldwide social experiment. Conspiracy theories are running rampant on the World Wide Web. Facebook, YouTube, Twitter, and Reddit are removing conspiracy theory content related to the coronavirus. These social media outlets claim the content violates their rules and regulations.

Cameroon 1-0 Nigeria: Super Eagles Players Ratings, Iwobi, Iheanacho Top Flops, High Mark For Ndidi, Simon

0

The senior national team of Nigeria were yesterday beaten 1-0 by the Indomitable Lions of Cameroon in an international friendly played in Austria.

Owngoalnigeria.com rates the players on parade for Nigeria in the game which was decided in the 36th minute by a goal from Fulham midfielder Andre-Frank Zambo Anguissa.

Maduka Okoye- Didn’t have a single save to make bar the goal scored by Cameroon. Looked badly sighted as Willam Ekong somehow blocked his view but if otherwise then he should have done better- 6/10

Shehu Abdullahi- Started on a shaky note but recovered brilliantly particularly in defending. Offered no route in attack as a full back even when he wasn’t under pressure- 5/10

Jamilu Collins- Combined nicely with Moses Simon on the left. Had some forays upfront where he whipped in two good balls. Didn’t really stamped his authority on the game – 5/10

William Ekong- Always willing to put his body on the line and his head where it hurts. Once again his distribution from the back need to improve as he was guilty of giving away possession cheaply- 6/10

Chidozie Awaziem – Looked good on the ball however same can’t be said about his movements without the ball. Did cut out some balls into the box smartly and helped in restricting Cameroon to just a shot on target – 6/10

Oghenekaro Etebo – His distribution, timing of passes and execution was hit and miss all through the game. Covered lot of grounds for the team but has no real effect upfront – 5/10

Wilfred Ndidi – Won more tackles than any player on the pitch and also drove the team forward even though his passes still need work. An industrious display as usual- 7/10

Alex Iwobi – Had a game to forget. He was slow, wasteful, bereft of ideas and looked very rusty all through. Playing from the right at the start didn’t help him but even when he moved to the middle he still didn’t convince- 4/10

Kelechi Iheanacho- Heavy touches, poor decision making were the highlights of his stay on the pitch. Didn’t bring his A game. A very disappointing performance- 5/10

Moses Simon – He was the only bright spark for Nigeria in attack in the first half. Almost bagged an assist with a cross to Paul Onuachu, Had an effort sailing in before it was pushed for a corner kick. Missed a glorious chance to level the tie in the second half – 7/10

Paul Onuachu- Hard to blame him when he wasn’t getting the type of service that saw him score 35 goals for Genk. Still didn’t convince in phases where he could have done better – 6/10

Substitutes:

Terem Moffi- Couple of nice passes but didn’t get the type of balls that saw him emerged as a hit for Lorient in Ligue 1 – 5/10

Ahmed Musa – Didn’t have the space to run at the Cameroonians hence his output was limited. Didn’t cover himself in glory when he hit a wayward effort from a promising position- 4/10

Anayo Iwuala – Decision making in key area was his greatest undoing for the third straight game in a Super Eagles shirt. Need to do more if he want to stay in the team – 4/10

Peter Olayinka- Didn’t get involved enough to earn a rating.

International Friendly: Anguissa’s Strike Condemns Super Eagles To Defeat Against Cameroon

0

A well taken strike by Fulham midfielder André-Frank Zambo Anguissa was all the indomitable Lions of Cameroon needed to edge a keenly contested friendly against Nigeria 1-0 in their favour.

Anguisa hit home a drive from the edge of the Nigerian box In the 36th minute and it flew past goalkeeper Maduka who looked badly positioned when the ball was struck although William Troost Ekong was in his sight.

That effort was the only real attempt on goal by the Cameroon team but it was enough to earn them their first win over Nigeria in their last four games. Nigeria had chances to level and particularly dominated the second half.
