0

Former captain of Arsenal Robin Van Persie has once again showered praises on Arsenal’s teen forward Bukayo Saka.

Saka has impressed mightily for Arsenal since the resumption of football after the lockdown caused by the coronavirus pandemic as he has played in every single minute for Arsenal since the restart.

An established player for England at youth level he is still eligible to play for Nigeria at senior level with the president of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) Amaju Pinnick a huge fan of the 19 year old .

Pinnick is keen on the having the left footed talent commit to the Super Eagles but coach of the team Gernot Rohr isn’t keen as he believe the decision should come from the player .

Speaking on the talent of Saka, Van Persie said he has the ability to play in several roles and that makes him a joy to watch. A praise that will no doubt catch the attention of the coach of the senior national team of England Gareth Southgate.

“If you point out Saka, I’m a huge fan of his. He can play as a defender, he can play midfield, striker, not the main striker but on the wing,” he told BT Sport.

“He’s a multi-talented player who can offer assists, goals, he’s a joy to watch.”

With three goals and ten assists to his name in all competitions this season , the postponement of the European Championship till next year has no doubt given him the chance to play his way into the plans of the senior national team of England.

Tunde Adelakun Clears The Air On His Role In Super Eagles Setup – I’m A Scout

0

Tunde Adelakun who is responsible for the engagement of Gernot Rohr as coach of the senior national team of Nigeria has for the first time speak on his role in the technical setup of the Nigerian team.

His role has been a subject of debate as he has no official designation announced by the Nigeria Football Federation ( NFF) even though he is always with the team and on one occasion spoke during the team’s media parley ahead of a game.

Many suggest he is the personal assistant of the Franco-German coach but according to the man himself his role in the team goes beyond that as he is the scout of the team with looking for players who can fit into the team as his main responsibility.

He made this known via a voice note in a chat with Faith Oluchi when she sought to know his role in the team following a heated conversation on Nigeria’s foremost Whatsapp group Nigeria Sports Mouthpiece (NSM).

” I am the assistant to Gernot Rohr, I’m not the assistant coach of Nigeria. We’ve said that so many times. I’m the assistant to Rohr, he appointed me as one of his assistants. I am in charge of scouting which is the role he gave to me as one of his assistants but I am his full time assistant because in his contract he has three assistants. Two come in when he have matches and I am his full time assistant “, he said in the audio posted by the Flamingoes media officer.

” I am not an assistant coach. I don’t do field work , I do scouting. My speciality and my certification is in talent identification and scouting. That is exactly what I do for Gernot Rohr. I’m not an assistant coach that is not my role in the Super Eagles. We have Joseph Yobo, we use to have Imama Amapakabo, we use to have Salisu Yusuf , we have Alloy Agu in the goalkeeping department. I am not the assistant coach, I’m the assistant to Rohr”.

Liverpool is Finally Crowned as the Champions of This Year’s Premier League

0

Everyone already knows that the Liverpool FC is bound to cut the 30-year wait for another championship title for this year’s premier league even before the league was suspended because of the 2019 coronavirus pandemic. All the fans really had to do was wait, and finally, the crowning moment has come.

Fans are surely happy about the return of the Premier League and many are happy to be able to place their wagers again on English betting sites. This weekend, Manchester City was defeated by Chelsea with a score of 2-1 and this defeat means that the win of Liverpool FC is made official.

This league title is already the football club’s 19th, but it has been since 1990 when Liverpool last won the Premier League. They are now just one title close to equaling Manchester United’s record of 20 division titles.

Jurgen Klopp, Liverpool’s coach, spoke to Sky Sports about winning and he said that it is absolutely incredible. Klopp said in the interview,

“I have no words. It’s unbelievable. Much more than I ever thought would be possible. Becoming champions with this club is absolutely incredible. It is an incredible achievement of my players and pure joy for me to coach them.”

“What can I say? It’s an incredible moment. I couldn’t be more proud of my coaching staff and all the people in Liverpool since we came in. It’s been a really exciting ride since the first day and it is not over yet. We watched it all together with the boys and it looks like there are still a good few more years left in their legs. It’s more than I ever dreamed of.

“It is a big moment. I have no words. It is such a big moment and I’m completely overwhelmed. I never could have thought it would feel like this, I had no idea.” Klopp was already tearing up at this point. He broke off the interview and said, “Sorry gentlemen, I’m sealed.”

Liverpool’s team captain, Jordan Henderson, also talked about their win on the club’s website. He wrote, “I could never in words describe the feeling of winning the Premier League, just like I couldn’t describe winning the Champions League.

It’s a unique feeling and one that, again, I’m very proud of. I’ve been so honored to be part of this football club right from the first moment that I came and to go on the journey to be with this manager, this group of players, these fans – it’s been so special. But we’ll enjoy this, we’ll celebrate, but then I know in the next few days they’ll be straight onto the next game, which is City, and finishing the season off as well as we can.”

“We want to win every game and we want to finish off with the highest points record we can and give that everything we’ve got and then we’ll go into next season and we’ll want even more. So, it’s about just keeping that hunger and I’ve got no doubt that we’ve got that because we’ve proved that over the past couple of years.”

When he was asked about the team’s motivation, he has said, “I think you can use that as a motivation and that as extra energy to keep going and to want to do it really, to want to get over the line and finish the job off,” he said. “Last season we played so well and were so unlucky, but City were amazing and they managed pip us in the end. We kept going right until the last day and that’s all we could ask for really.

Obviously, a few weeks later winning the Champions League helped, and then I think we’ve kicked on again and we’ve been unbelievable this season.

“For now, it’s about keeping on improving, keeping on doing the things we’ve been doing to get to this point but also keep improving, learning even more and if we do that then I’m pretty sure there’ll be more trophies available to us in the near future.”

It was Thursday when the league crowned Liverpool as champions and it was unavoidable that fans wanted to celebrate near their favorite club. Fans gathered on the Anfield Road, seemingly ignoring that there still is a pandemic that the world is dealing with. However, for some, this may be a worthy risk as it has been a long-time waiting. There still are fans who remained at home to celebrate despite this unforgettable event.
