English Premier League champions Manchester City have been accused of unsettling Nigeria international defender Ola Aina with the public report of their interest in signing him, OwnGoalNigeria.com reports.
Aina is said to be heavy on the transfer list of City who are expected to move on veteran full back Kyle Walker alongside a couple of other first team players in the summer as part of the revamping of their squad.
The 28 year told Nigeria international will be out of contract in the summer after forest, who are presently third on the English Premier League table triggered the option of extending his deal for a year in the summer.
City believe they stand a huge chance of getting the Nigerian for free and have already made contact with his representative. Forest are said to be unhappy as it is partly why talks over a new deal with the ex Torino defender has stalled.
He has been one of their best players this season with two goals from his full back role from all of their 19 game in the English Premier League this season. Coach Nuno Espirito Santo is said to have told the board to make the contract extension of the Nigerian a priority before the end of the January transfer window.
