Nigeria Under-17 World Cup winner John Lazarus is close to joining Belgium giants Anderlecht according to reports sourced by Owngoalnigeria.com.
Lazarus was scouted by Anderlecht during the under-17 World Cup alongside Mali’s Karim Dante and his teammate Victor Osimhen.
Dante appears set to move elsewhere while Osimhen is reportedly a player of Wolfsburg in Germany leaving Lazarus as their prime target this winter.
Despite acquiring Rafael Galhardo they still want the Nigerian to act as an understudy before he makes the step up to become a regular.
The 17 year old right full back played all Nigeria’s game at the last Under-17 championship and currently plays for Fosla Academy in Nigeria.
Anderlecht currently have on their books Imoh Ezekiel and if Lazarus moves there he will be hoping to emulate Celestine Babayaro who excelled while at the team.
