Out of favour Super Eagles striker Brown Ideye tasted defeat with his Greek side for the first time since he joined them in the summer as they slump to a 0-1 defeat to AEK Athens.

The loss ended their run of 22 games without a loss in the league which stretch back to April last year prior to when Ideye joined them in the summer.

A solitary strike from Ronald Vargas after Diego Buoanannote’s penalty came off the post ensured AEK snatched all three points to reduce the point deficit between them and leaders Olympiakos to 16 points although Olympiakos had two players sent off for bookable offences.

27 year old Ideye who has 7 goals to his name from 19 games this season in Greece failed to add to his season tally despite playing the entire duration of the game and he has now gone three games without a goal.
