Aliyu Abubakar who helped Nigeria win the 2013 U-17 World Youth Championship in Dubai will has become the fourth Nigerian to join the team following their capture of Gbolahan Salami,Azubuike Egwuekwe and Paul Onobi.
The Mutunchi Academy protege traveled with the duo of Paul Onobi and Gbolahan Salami to Finland where they are expected to undergo a routine medical before putting pen to paper on deal with different worth.
Aliyu we gathered signed a one and half year deal like Onobi and Salami and joins the team as a free player following his release by Israeli side MS Ashdod after the end of last season.
His career didn’t quite progress as expected while at the Israeli side as his plans to use the club as a springboard to launch his career in Europe failed to materialise.
In Finland the defensive midfielder who is also comfortable as a central defender will be hoping to gain international recognition once again after missing out of the 2015 Under-20 World Youth Championship and failing to make the U-23 team that went to the AFCON in Senegal.
