Super Eagles teen sensation Kelechi Iheanacho was in the stands yesterday when Manchester City U-18 defeated Arsenal 2-1 in a game that once again showed the progress made by another Nigerian Tom Dele-Bashiru.

16 year old Dele-Bashiru who was heavily courted by Liverpool,Arsenal and Manchester United as a 14 year old came on for Manchester City with five minutes left to play in the FA Youth Cup clash against Arsenal but got booked straight away.

Dele-Bashiru was shown a yellow card by referee Andrew Madley for simulation when he went down in search of a penalty much to the annoyance of the watching crowd.

However his performances prior to yesterday’s game has marked him out as one for the future as he is fast becoming a mainstay in the U-18’s despite being classified as an U-16 where he still plays from time to time.

A powerhouse of a midfielder, Tom is capable of driving the team forward from midfield due to his direct style of play and has made a real impression during his appearances for the U-18’s.
