It was a tale of delight and despair for 29 year old Nigeria forward Osariemen Ebagua who scored a brace to help Vicenza beat Ascoli 2-0 but also got sent off.
Ebagua put his team ahead in the third minute of play for the first goal of the game and doubled their lead and his in the 23rd minute to put them two goals up.
However within a space of three minutes in the 26th and 29th minute he committed two fouls that made him take the walk of shame before the half time break.
In his absence his team were able to hang on and claim all three points in a strong defensive performance with ex Nigeria youth international Daniel Adejo commanding the backline.
The victory moved them to 17th on the log and for Ebagua the brace was his third goal of the season from 12 games since joining Vicenza in January.
