The agent of former Super Eagles coach Stephen Keshi says Sunday Oliseh should be blamed for Nigeria’s failure to qualify for AFCON 2017.
“We have to look at the bigger picture and tell ourselves the truth, we lost the AFCON ticket in Tanzania not in Cairo, an experience coach will tell you not to fall behind so early in a race, that we did under Oliseh by drawing in Tanzania” Emma Ado told Owngoalnigeria.com.
“The game in Tanzania was ours to lose but we could only manage a draw no thanks to poor tactics and poor selection that was when we fell two points behind and we never recovered.
“In Kaduna we were playing catch-up, In Egypt we were trying to redeem our chances now tell me which is harder, staying in touch with the leaders or playing catch up?”.
Ado is optimistic that this latest failure will spur Nigeria to greater height as it did in 2012 which was followed by lifting the title in 2013.
“It’s a wake up call that should put us in a position to do well in 2019 just like after we missed out on the 2012 edition we recovered to win it in 2013, but first of all eyes on the ball, World Cup 2018 qualifiers should be our priority now”. He concluded.
