25 year old Nigerian forward Stanley Awurum enhanced his goal scoring reputation in the second division in Portugal scoring his 14th goal of the season in Varzim’s 2-2 draw against Farense.
The little known forward who was signed from Mozambique second division side Chibuito two seasons ago scored the opener for Varzim in the 17th minute but his strije wasn’t enough to end his team all three point as they ended up with just one point after the 2-2 draw.
Awurum who has 12 months to run on his current deal is heavily sought after by top teams in and outside Portugal and latest reports indicates Varzim could cash in on him in the summer.
However he is not the top scoring Nigerian in the division with Simmy Nwankwo ahead of him on 15 goals for Gil Vicente.
