MANU GARBA RETURNS TO ABUJA, RULES OUT FURTHER TRIPS

Coach of Nigeria U-17 team, Manu Garba has returned from his scouting trip to Uyo, Akwa Ibom state and is presently in Abuja ahead of camping for the Nigeria U-17 team.

Owngoalnigeria.com had a chat with the soft spoken coach on the success of his scouting tour that has seen him visit Owerri,Porthacourt,Aba,Kaduna and Uyo.

“We have done a lot and we have around 65 players we hope to call at different intervals when we camping begins” He told Owngoalnigeria.com.

“I am through with phase one of my programme and the next phase will be playing games against teams from where we can pick one or two players, that was how I discovered Isaac Success”.

On reports that he will visit Lagos, the coach once again reiterated that the city isn’t in his plans in terms of visiting to scout for players but he has drawn up a programme that will adequately cover almost the entire state to fish out talents.

“No Lagos trip for me as we have less time on our hands but we have design a programme for the state which we believe will help us discover more talent than if we visit”.
