Despite slapping in a bid of €6m, German Bundesliga side Hamburg are currently facing an uphill task in their attempt to snatch Wilfred Ndidi from Genk.
Owngoalnigeria.com reported news of the bid from Hamburg but according to Het Belang van Limburg, six other Bundesliga side are also monitoring the 19 year old with report of all of them preparing a bid for him in the summer.
Borussia Dortmund,VFL Wolfsburg,Bayer Leverkusen,Hoffenheim,FC Cologne and VFB Stuggart are reportedly trying to price him away from Genk after his splendid showing this season from the defensive midfield.
However as rightly reported by Owngoalnigeria.com, Ndidi is contracted to Genk till the summer of 2020 which could make interested party pay more than they would have if he had not extended his contract in February.
Tipped to win the award for the best young player in the Belgium league. His market value will soar higher before the end of the summer transfer window as he would have been a full international for Nigeria by then.
However he has already made his debut for the senior Nigeria national team in a friendly game against Cameroun and has been to two Under-20 world cup with the youth side of Nigeria.
