Danish top division team FC Midtylland per a statement on their social media platform have confirmed the promotion of 18 year old Nigerian forward Iyede Samson Omonigho to their first team.
A product of the Danish team franchise in Nigeria FC Ebedei, his transfer to the Danish side continues a rich tradition of Nigerian players moving to the Danish side directly from the non league team in Nigeria.
Omonigho moved to FC Midtylland in January as an 18 year old turning out for their reserve team in the UEFA Youth League but will henceforth push for a spot in the first team following his promotion to the first team.
He will join the trio of Rilwan Hassan, Babajide David Akintola and Paul Onuachu in the first team of the Danish team that became known to the rest of world after their 2-1 victory over English giants Manchester United in the round of 16 of the Europa League.
