Tottenham Hotspur forward Nathan Oduwa breezed into the camp of the Nigeria U-23 team beating the deadline set by head coach of the team Samson Siasia for invited foreign based players, Owngoalnigeria.com can exclusively reveal.
His arrival brings the number of foreign based players in the team’s camp ahead of the Suwon Invitational tournament in South Korea to four as he joins the trio of Azubuike Okechukwu,Saturday Keigo and Uche Agbo who arrived the team camp despite not been named on the official list of invited players.
20 year old Oduwa has been on the books of Tottenham Hotspur since the age of 11 and progressed through their youth set up before signing his first professional deal in the year 2012.
He represented England at multiple youth levels, the highest been at U-20 level before switching allegiance to Nigeria few months ago.
Oduwa who spent the last part of the just concluded football season on loan to Colchester United in the third tier of league football in England made his debut for the team in the 1-0 friendly win over Brazil in Rio in a friendly game two months ago.
He is presently locked in contract talks with Tottenham Hotspur over a new deal with his present deal set to run out in 12 months time, he is yet to agree to fresh terms as regard extension of his present deal.
