FLYING EAGLES DEFENDER FEARED OUT OF BURUNDI TIE

Flying Eagles of Nigeria left full back Udochukwu Anumudu is an injury doubt for the Nigeria U-20s ahead of their second leg tie against Burundi this weekend in Calabar.

Anumudu who starred in their 1-0 win away at Burundi nine days ago twisted his ankle in training last week and missed today’s training session, a sign that the injury could rule him out of the game in Calabar.

The duo of Tobechukwu Ibe and Douglas Uzama are waiting in the wings to deputise for him if he fails to shake off the knock before the game.

Owngoalnigeria.com correspondent who was at the training ground also confirmed that John Lazaruz who missed the majority of last week training session returned back to training this morning and came out of the session unscathed.

The team are expected to leave for Calabar on Wednesday, the venue of their second leg clash against Burundi with the coach Emmanuel Amunike lead boys in high spirit to defend their 1-0 lead from the first leg.
