Victories over Mali and Luxembourg in recent friendlies have helped the Super Eagles of Nigeria move up in the recent rankings released by world soccer body FIFA for the month of June.
Super Eagles improved on their global position as they are now 61st in the world six places higher than where they finished last month thanks to points picked up from the 1-0 win over Mali and 3-1 victory over Luxembourg.
However In Africa they are still outside the top 10 as they are placed 12th position behind Algeria,Cote d’ivoire,Ghana,Senegal,Egypt, Tunisia,Cape Verde Island,Congo DR,Guinea,Cameroon,Congo.
Globally Argentina are still the number one ranked football nation in the world with Belgium holding on to second spot ahead of Colombia in third with Germany and Chile rounding up the top five.
