Barely five months after joining Ukrainian side FC Stal Dniprodzerzhynsk one capped Super Eagles full back, Akeem Latifu has terminated his contract with the team, Owngoalnigeria.com can exclusively reveal.

A document in the possession of Owngoalnigeria.com showed he broke free from his one and half year deal with FC Stal by exploring a legal loophole after the taking over of the team by new owners.

Although he is already disillusioned with life in the country owing to the civil disturbances currently rocking the nation he got his wish to leave the club three days back after filing a petition with the FA in Ukraine.

Per the document in our posession, the 26 year old argued that his deal was with FC Stal, a club whose activities will be terminated by the Football Federation on the 30th of June 2016 and not with PFC Stal the new owners as his deal was post dated without terminating his contract with FC Stal.

Moreso the scheduled termination of the activities of FC Stal as a football club in June also means termination of his deal with the team as they no longer exist under the rules of Ukraine.

The former Youth International was however not given any form of financial compensation but the joy of being a free player might earn him a big money move this summer.
