Head coach of the Nigeria U-17 team Manu Garba says he has so far picked 15 players from the over 2,000 players who came for screening with the team.

“It has been a success so far, the level is quite high but based on areas we think we will be short going forward we have picked 15 players who we believe can be of good use for us in our quest to have a formidable U-17″ Manu told Owngoalnigeria.com.

The soft spoken coach who won the U-17 World Cup with Nigeria in 2013 further said the screening will end by this weekend so as to allow them commence the hard process of putting together a formidable team.

” The screening should end this weekend by our plans but anything can still happen to warrant an extension, the reason why we want it to end after two weeks is to allow us have enough time to blend the players we have selected into a team”.
