Carpi are presently mulling over a loan bid from Chievo for Jerry Mbakogu who is reportedly also on the wish list of Serie A side Napoli.
A SerieB24 report monitored by Owngoalnigeria.com has it that Chievo have tabled an offer for the 23 year old to join them on loan next season with an option to buy him outright in the summer of 2017.
Carpi have reportedly asked for more days to consider the offer, a signal to the fact that the move could happen in the coming weeks but report has it that Napoli Sporting Director Cristiano Giuntoli is a big fan of the forward from their days together at Carpi and could sanction a move for him as well.
Last summer after powering Carpi to the Serie A with 15 goals in the Serie B, he was declared non transferable but after a poor season in the Serie A where he missed two penalties in one game and managed only two goals from 24 games, relegated Carpi are open to his sale.
Chievo Verona finished 9th last season and their connection with Nigerian players date back to when Victor Obinna Nsofor played for the Donkeys in the 2005/2006 Serie A season.
